Cheese the cheese boss
do ash of war facing ground everytime crystalian get aggro. and dodge attack until crystalian got aggro again. repeat. (crystalian are extra tanky than other ash atleast in my gameplay)
You can block with a shield, especially ones with high holy resistance. Additionally, in the DLC, there is a talisman in the Shaman Village that provides high holy damage negation.
I personally defeated him with dual wielding straight swords, sword of light and another one which i don't remember the name which scaled from str/faith. I don't think you want to use weapons that take long to attack with, you might also want to use daggers if you don't have good straight swords
Toggle targeting if you haven't - I find it easier to see his attacks that way.
Use defence and holy resist talismans - Dragoncrest Greatshield and Golden Braid.
Use hefty rot pots - one for the first phase and two in the beginning of the second (even if you have to tank the aoe).
