I'm on Ng+. I'm guessing they are more manageable in NG.
It's one of those things you either learn to deal with or break the deal, unfortunately
The brute ones with spear and hammers are way more challenging but they are susceptible to stagger and their counter attacks take way more time. This will give you an openning to charge attack and stagger them. A high level weapon should stagger them with 2 charged or jump attacks.
I am on NG, by the way.
It's objective that their invul. timers are significantly longer than any other soldier, including non-boss knights, in the game. Pretending that nothing's changed is just your way of harassing others.
