To those complaining "It is too hard"
First of all let me just say that I have played every fromsoftware game starting from ds1 till today except Ds2. To those complaining about the difficulty, you are probably lacking one of two things either scadu tree fragments or skill. Now the thing is for people who have skill issue, the game gives you many options from summoning to using spirit summons and lets not forget the crazy broken builds out there. It is ok to accept that you just arent good enough...yet...and could use a bit of help unless you have some weird ego insecurities which is weird cuz its just a video game at the end of the day.

Now to address the elephant in the room. I am aware that compared to previous fromsoft titles, the bosses in this feel like they are straight out of an mmo and have attacks that feel like you have to be lucky to avoid them. I agree, the base game does have bosses like that BUT the dlc is different. I had literally no problem fighting any boss in the game once I learned their move set. in fact I even first tried the second last boss because I just maanged to pick up on its move set fast.

Now I will be discussing the final boss. i won't spoil anything but I will discuss some aspects of the combat. The first phase is amazing felt like I was playing Bloodborne or ds3 again and it was super fun. Then comes the second phase, when I saw what was goin on I was like no way, they ruined the end. BUT I dedicated myself to learning the moves and how to dodge them and came to the realisation that it is probably the best fromsoft boss fight ever. Note: It took me 2 hours to find out counters to every move. Point being instead of complaining maybe think of way you can avoid the attack. Fun fact, crouching and jumping are also evasive manuvers although i dont think they have eye frames not sure. Now, onto the moves. Btw I used the back hand blade weapon to defeat him which you can get pretty early on in the game and I had been maining that weapon.

For his second phase literally all you have to do is dodge the attacks he throws out, the ones that he uses in phase 1, in the exact same manner and unless you do something wrong, the light wont hit you just make sure you dodge into the attack not away from it. I wasn't able to figure out how to dodge one attack though, the one where he uses his left blade first then follows it up immediatly with another slash from his right blade followed by a dual slash that send out ripples of rocks. For the attacks where he goes up in the air (you know which one I am avoiding spoilers) just run to the side and jump. The move where he flies around and stuff it is rollable you just have to get the timing right (practice). For reference I beat the boss with 4/13 flasks remaining and I wasn't using some crazy build, granted I did use armor with high defense (not the highest one). Point being its ok to not be able to learn or have skill issue and the game provides means by which you can compensate for those skill issues for reference I was level 171.

This was easily the best boss fight fromsoft has ever made. Even though Bloodborne is my favourite game I gotta admit they really went hard on that finale. Enjoy!

When we veterans say "gitgud" its not an insult like most newbies think it literally means to get good by learning the game focus on the enemies moves pin point which attack you are having trouble with and practice dodging that.

i literally solod it on ng+2 using only the guts sword, its bad. fromslop defense force is out in full force today.

Gratz you beat him on easy mode or close to easy mode only being NG+2. Go beat him solo without tear on max scaling NG7+. Prob took you hrs to beat him on easy mode tbh. Typical "oh the fight is bad cause it took me this long/it's not me it's the game that's bad "

There are already no damage youtube vids against him. Severe case of git gud ya casual Andy.

as a souls pvper i can confirm that you do not need skill for beating npcs. their attacks are always well telegraphed and easily anticipated. with bosses especially you can always see what attack is coming and act accordingly. theres also plenty of tools to help you beat em like summons and cheese builds, it all just works and you don't need to learn the boss moves half the time either. afterall, they're just npc, they can't surprise you, they operate within a framework. unlike in pvp where the real skill display happens.

That's a huge paragraph to be writing when you didn't even play the best Dark Souls in the series...

Debatable considering the aspects of ds2 present in Elden Ring base game are Elden Rings most hated features (dual bosses, copy paste, poor level design etc)

I see a lot of people complaining about commander gaiuss for that just use the flask thingy which boosts your counter attack if you guard just before getting hit. Instead of wasting your time here think of ways to improvise. If your wanna waste you time here dont complain when you cant gitgud

i literally didnt stun him a single time because boss poise scales up on new game cycles, i didnt use any aow at all, i basically beat him using only roll attacks because thats all you have time to do. youre literally choking on miyazakis ♥♥♥♥.

So you are saying you managed to beat the boss using only rolls? Then that means that the boss design is really good. Also do you have a Miyazaki fantasy or somthing why do you keep bringing that up XD. Profile says all i need to know

I played it on the PS5 and sold it. I liked a lot about it and probably did about 50% of the map. But it was frustrating.

What I hated about dying (lots) was being put back 5-10 mins in terms of progress, to a checkpoint, to have to it all again, just to die again, probably. I value my time more than this and I can have a pleasant gaming experience and enjoy a story, even if it means saving the game (not this game, as you can't) right at the point of a difficult encounter. I can handle dying a lot, but it was so annoying to have work through the same 10 mobs that I had already killed to get back to the place and point where I died. I didn't often get back there successfully each time either, so it felt like I was going backwards.

It's one of the most visually amazing and large, open games that has just about everything I would want from a game, but it's too frustrating and doesn't respect a gamer's game time. I might only have an hour to play a game and with this one, progress was minimal in that hour.

Well thats a souls like for you. Ig these games are just not for you then. For me it adds the thrill of exploration and being careful but to each their own. Then again I have been playing since Ds1 and this is actually how video games are. The modern video games with checkpoints every where wasn't the case back then
