Thoughts on the ending?
Just finished the DLC and all I can say is what the hell? Pretty anti climactic after the difficulty of the final boss. Am I missing something or is that really it? View a memory and then nothing? How did Marika actually ascend to god hood, I thought we'd get something even a cryptic ending would have been fine. The DLC just ends with no answers at all. Thoughts?

Its a long side quest so you should be happy there is an “ending”.

Pretty meh honestly. I'm not unhappy with it, I'm just a little disappointed. Game play was great though.

Like i said before, it felt like a firework show of a DLC that ended with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sparkler

pretty disappointing. Was hoping for impact on the base game, or new dialogue from characters like Malenia for example. From all the hype around Miquella, and the lore from the base game too, it felt very bland. It was opened ended enough for them to do more with the ending, but I seriously doubt it. I feel like they aren't gonna touch Elden Ring again like they did with Bloodborne and Sekiro.

I saw Miquella being the final boss pretty early on; at first I thought he'd be in Melina's role before the DLC, but after people addressed him as "The Kind", I knew something's up. No one who's genuinely a "good person" requires a title to reinforce their deeds. It's very tropy for someone to be referred as such and be a PoS.

It's almost conspiratorial with how much the context of the lore is flipped on its head by the end of the DLC. I dunno if I hate it, but I'm of the opinion that he should've resurrected Godwyn and not Radahn; Followers of Godwyn got quite a bit attention more so than Redmanes (who's just Freyja), so it's a shame the ending went in the direction they did.

The DLC is entirely contained, but I'm still a little upset there's no reference to my deeds in the world; even Ashes of Ariandel did this, changing some dialogue if you become the Lord of Londor. I was expecting the same amount changes but there's absolutely nothing. Going above and beyond with this would be replacing the Lord of Frenzied Flame with a Melina boss fight if you got embraced by the Three Fingers, but that's asking for a lot for something so optional.

It's not an ending because it's a sidequest to the base game.
