It's almost conspiratorial with how much the context of the lore is flipped on its head by the end of the DLC. I dunno if I hate it, but I'm of the opinion that he should've resurrected Godwyn and not Radahn; Followers of Godwyn got quite a bit attention more so than Redmanes (who's just Freyja), so it's a shame the ending went in the direction they did.
The DLC is entirely contained, but I'm still a little upset there's no reference to my deeds in the world; even Ashes of Ariandel did this, changing some dialogue if you become the Lord of Londor. I was expecting the same amount changes but there's absolutely nothing. Going above and beyond with this would be replacing the Lord of Frenzied Flame with a Melina boss fight if you got embraced by the Three Fingers, but that's asking for a lot for something so optional.
