Invincible fire/furnace giant in DLC?

I've already defeated several fire/furnace giants in the DLC. I know the gist of it - hit them in the legs until they drop, then stab the face. There is one particular giant, however, that seems to be invulnerable to damage/staggering - when I hit him I do not deal any damage whatsoever (i.e. no numbers show up) and it seems like it is not getting any stagger damage either (no matter how long I hit it, it won't drop).

Has anyone encountered this before? Is this a bug or am I missing something? The particular giant I'm having this issue with is the one past the "Charo's Hidden Grave" waypoint, shortly after the ghost bird mini boss.

Yeah jump up with torrent and throw fire pots in his head to kill him

that titan has armor around his foot you can use the new big firepots that will kill every armored giant in 3 hits but they are limited and the pots need to go in the top not just at the head.....

I used 4 hefty fire pots and it did like half damage. Maybe try frost ones. The above comments were misleading.

The furnace fire ones, but you need about 3-4 to hit

Use the fire whirlwind ones. Those hit them hard.

ow jea because i now killed every giant with armor twice all with 3 big pots each you need the new pots from the dlc not old fire pots...... and check that you threw it inside not at the side of his head.

And what do you do when you no longer have any of the big firepots? I threw 2 into his head, then died, three times...

first how the ♥♥♥♥ and second you can still use the new dlc pots there are new fire pots that are also pretty big but dont have the whirlwind effect might take more of them then the good pots though if never managed to die to the armored giants.....
