Fast way to kill furnace golems?
Is there a better way than hitting them in the legs with a heavy weapon R2 40 or something times on horseback to get a crit? I'm on an int build if there are any effective spells. Twinshard spiral isn't much better than just smacking them with a heavy weapon either.

They look cool but they're kind of a slog to fight after the first few.

Some of them you can get to a high point and throw fire pots into the fire, it deals a ton of damage. Hefty Furnace Pots are the most effective. Otherwise, I just used Spinning Weapon and every multi-hit buff I could come up with.

You craft the hefty furnace pots, the super explosive ones and throw em on top of their heads, explodes inside for massive damage. There is one in fact that you can only kill it that way.

One is north-east of Bonny Village, the other is at the end of Charo's Grave. It's possible there's more I missed too, I got all of them I could find though and all of them took leg damage but those two.

How many hefty furnaces it takes?

Three. You can use other kinds of fire pots too, but it takes more.
Hitting the leg method is only limited to some Golems. I came across one that cannot be posture break by hitting the legs. Also, its legs looks very different from others. Its legs are armoured. So, throwing pots from higher ground is the only way for that one.
You can get off the horse to hit them faster.

If you're wild enough you can use a bow and hit their face, I'm pretty sure they all take face damage but it's still a giga boring slog of a fight with high risk and almost no reward. Worst enemy in the game, honestly if I was to rate the game a 10/10 it would drop to an 8/10 simply for having these terrible monsters.
