There needs to be a way to revert NG+
Maybe allow a save file to keep your pre-ng+ save as well. Honestly, going into this DLC with the enemies having +X% inc HP and dmg seems pretty awful.
Mohg, who gave me absolutely no trouble in my original playthrough --- was able to literally 2 shot me in P2. It made the fight SIGNIFICANTLY harder. WAY harder than the first time I fought him.
(SL 165, 55 vigor)

I'm sure if I popped my mimic tear it'd be fine, but I don't particularly want to feel like I need to do that.
I shouldn't need to replay the entire game to play the DLC on the intended difficulty.

There is, start a new save.

I don't think you actually read the post. As I already mentioned, you shouldn't have to replay the entire game just to access the DLC at the intended difficulty.

So you are complaining that you are deliberately ignoring a fame mechanic, one that the fame us built around you using abd because of your own actions, it is too difficult.....

Why not just play the fame as it us intended and not cry about your self imposed challabge kicking your butt?

Wait, what is the issue here?

The requirements for getting to the DLC are quite easy, on top of that Mogh is in a state which makes him some joke of a boss in comparison to his release state.
You didn't magically lose your items, like the shackles, mixed flask tears, etc. and if you used them you would have easily gotten through to the DLC area in less than 2 hours, assuming you rushed there, especially on SL150+

The only way to "revert" it is using cheats.

Ye of course, I had my flask for it and it did take about 2-3 hours to clear up to Mohg. The boss itself took me a handful of attempts, as --- like I said, it could quite literally kill me full HP in 2 regular hits in P2.
I was not using my mimic nor summons, and didn't shackle him --- yes.
I'm not complaining about the boss's difficulty. I'm saying that it sucks that I lost my pre-ng+ save and there is still no way to revert to prior to NG+.

~2yrs ago when I thought about going through ng+ again I forgot to revert the save manually, lost it, and now that the DLC is out I did not want to be forced to play it when the NEW BOSSES THAT I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED --- having +40% hp and damage.
That seems very unfun.

I'm just saying it really sucks that there is no way to revert from NG+. There should be. The answer being "lul go replay the entire game" is pretty ridiculous.

I don't know what kind of criticism you all have been hearing that gets y'all so hostile so quickly but FFS. (not saying you, person I'm quoting, but others)
I simply want to play the DLC at the intended difficulty. Not 40% more difficult than the devs originally intended.

Start a new game, use cheat engine to give you runes and what not and then unlock the DLC quickly (takes less than an hour). There you go.

So, you want to play the game a few times, get every weapon to +10/+25 multiple times, level up a bunch and then return to NG+0 or +1?

That is another level of "easy mode" you want there.

If you already know a build you like and where to get the items it should take very little effort to run through the game and get those before jumping into the DLC.

you dont need to replay the whole game, you just need to level yourself up to an appropriate level for whatever NG+ you are on. Max level is 713 go get your farm on.

You laid your bed bruh :steammocking:

seriously start a new character or better yet- *play just about anything else*

Like.... do you even think about my post before you respond with some aggressive ♥♥♥♥ like this?
No dude, I want to REVERT to pre-ng+, that means if you choose to do that, you'd lose everything because it is REVERTING the save. Not bringing you back to ng0.
wtf?
Stop looking for a fight in every post.
I just want to play the DLC at the originally intended difficulty.

Well I'm not sure what you mean under P2 (Journey 2?) bur for lvl 139 char NG+1 DLC does not feel over the top IMO.

Also NG+0 to NG+1 scaling is area-dependent and for late-game areas (which presumably includes DLC) it is barely noticeable (like 13% for attack damage and 20% for defense values [NOT EQUIVALENT TO 20% DIRECT DAMAGE REDUCTION!]). Read here for details: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/New+Game+Plus

As of an option to choose NG-level, they do not seem to like it for some reason, not completely sure why but I would not really expect them to allow it.

So the answer is, start over --- spend many hours grinding to get back to a similar SL, spend several more hours grinding the equipment you had, then go to the DLC.
That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid my man. I don't see what the benefit is of requiring a player to do that.
The DLC has an intended difficulty, I'm asking for the ability to play it at the intended difficulty first.

P2 --> phase 2 ---> after Mohg's "nihil" attack.
I don't think you should be able to choose the NG level, but you should be able to revert your save.
I don't think it would be challenging for the devs to implement a feature when you start NG+ to keep your last NG0 save so you are able to REVERT to it at any time.
Meaning, you would lose ALL PROGRESS after that save if you revert to it. It seems like a very reasonable ask.

I did this manually in the past, but I recently built a new computer and completely forgot to backup my elden ring saves so I don't have my pre-ng+ save anymore. It's been at least a year since I played Elden Ring. It's just really annoying to have to play the new content with scaled up difficulty and no way to reverse that because I forgot to swap my save back to pre-ng+ in early 2023.
