Commander Gaius question
How in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell do you even dodge that stupid charge attack. It doesn't matter what angle of what timing I try, hlf the time I still eat damage for completely free. This is such an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ move.

I assume that this boss was created to fight him on horseback, if we are talking about his very first attack from acceleration, then on horseback it is easy to get away from it simply by driving in a straight line

Yeh, no. 100% wrong. The horse is not fast enough to outspeed the boar. EVER.

I press spacebar when he starts approaching you, always works against this attack, when trying to strike he slows down and doesn't reach you

That never worked for me and I have no interest in fighting this with the extremely poor horse controls.

his hitbox is a broken for the charge the most you need , perfect dodge and positioning is needed right perfectly in the middle if you do not you may get hit and i assume the tooth hogs have a hitbox as well that will still count as part of the charge , which is kinda really stupid since this is very situational rather then a thing that will happen at all times

i used poison great stars and a great shield, with greatshield talisman and 40+ endurance, with this setup, you can block even the 7 attack combo from full stamina, and then you can just guard counter and poison him. 2 guard counters and one uncharged heavy attack breaks his poise.

it is a disgusting build, but it is a disgusting boss as well

Dodge forward left. Simple as that to dodge the charge.

use the horse to run away from the charge attack, he's faster than you so when he approches just double jump, he can still hit you if you jump to the wrong side.

dismount after that and good luck

you can also use vow of the indominable on a small shield only for the charge attacks , you can also try to get him stuck on the side corner works only for first phase until half hp

Yeah, the hitbox on that attack honestly may need some tuning. As most people stated, with medium equip-load, your positioning has to be perfect before initiating the roll, and roll towards forward-left/forward-right of the boss (rather then straight-forward). But even this strat was inconsistent for me.

There's even some strange interaction if you happen to be right in front of the boss when he initiates the charge move. This will result in you getting hit more than once in a single instance sometimes, instantly killing me from full health lol. Not exactly a boss I felt satisfied even after beating him.

My suggestion would be either to go light-equip load (to increase your roll distance), use blood-hound step on your main-weapon (or a secondary dagger), or maybe some other item to increase your i-frames.

Use a shield and block it. You can completely negate most of his attacks with blocks.

You,re a funny guy. Used a greatshield, that charge instantly removed half my hp and broke my stamina. Not everyone is running 75 endurance. This is the worst tip I have ever read.

Rush to the left corner asap without horse. You can hide behind it for few seconds to summon and escape his rush attack

It must have come straight from DS2

But you don't need frame perfect input, you can use Bloodhound's Step, Windy Crystal Tear to increase i-frames, a greatshield with barricade shield AoW and so on
Trial an error for me. I don't even remember how many times I have to fight him to figure out the timings for dodging and when I should attack him. Too many times I would say. But once I learned it, he dropped real fast. His hp isn't very thick and his posture breaks really fast especially with Giant weapons attacks. I fought him solo with no summons. If I had used summons. It would have been way easier but I wouldn't have learned how to dodge his attacks.
