Putrescent Knight flame attack

When I get him to about 60% hp he does this move, any way I can avoid this? I try running away and it doesn't work so I feel i'm missing a gimmick or something.

try jumping my friend, still hard to get the timing but I was able to dodge quite a lot of them by jumping over the flame waves coming at you

Only time I used a shield in the DLC so far is for this attack. Even then it almost wrecked me but I survived.

a well timed jump will do the trick for the flame

He casts the flame 3 times when it approaches you, so just jump over them. When he casts the one flame far away, turn around quickly and jump over it.

Looks like a lot of fights in the DLC put emphasis on every kind of movement beyond just rolling, like the Furnaces requiring you to jump over the flame.

YOU CAN JUMP OVER THE FLAMES ON THEM TOO? wish I knew that sooner before going into ng+ lol I just timed my dodges insanely well for most of it.
