Even then it took me 10 tries. This is because of how quickly I had to grab those summon signs and sometimes the team make up was really bad.
Which is Miyazaki wants you to branch out from the rolly polly. If you try to rolly polly him all the way through you will suffer. Once you branch out to other mechanics he's so much easier to beat.
Or you could deflect at the right time to make him eat a guard counter as well as L1 instead of rolling around till you can hit him.
It's not just the hitboxes, dodges have terrible damage uptime on him as well.
On so many of his second phase attacks I roll just one or two and deflect, jump or ash (blinside etc.) the others. You can also parry him to death.
Lorewise? an absolute piece of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Reeks of Martin's worst tropes. Not saying his works sucks per se, but it was heavily condensed in this finale, and it was pretty transparently obvious his style of writing. Degrading and metaphorically and literally profaning 4 of the most interesting and hated/beloved characters in the main story for the sake of a twisted incestuous reverse-pedo rape fanfic, was the most enraging lore experience in my entire FromSoft lore experience ever, which is, all of fromsoft lore, and will probably never be topped.
I parried my way to victory but I am just not a fan of the boss.
Had way more fun with Midra, Rellana and Bayle
Once I got used to the speed and AOE of the fight, it got easier. Not easy, mind you, but easier.
The Remembrance options... are really disappointing though.
To be honest, they are right about one not having enough time to learn crap in 1 or 2 tries. You were either RL713 + maxed summons + buff stacked out your butt + RNG blessed you + you cheesed in one way or another, or you are not almost 1st trying it blind.
Not because it's an impossible fight, but because around half the combos one shot at meta level, and there is just way to many moves to learn, the fight is comically over the top, specially in phase 2.
As low as at least 5 tries sounds reasonable if you are a god gamer and went blind.
Anything else, would make you ''I made let me solo her my ♥♥♥♥♥'' tier gamer, or you just googled cheese and rolled with it.
Logic would dictate to doubt your statement, or at least a fraction of it.
