I tried to dodge forward but slightly to the side. I had no issues dodging it later in the fight but at the beginning it would almost always hit me for some reason. Probably me holding different angles on the stick so I dont get the right angle to not get hit.
Inb4 the legion of FromSoftware simps flock to this post to tell you to "git gud" and stop being bad.
The bosses do suck. I struggled on Commander Gaius myself for a long time. You can't i-frame the boars tusks. It can step on you, not stomp but just simply step on you, for over half your health. The boss basically 1 shots torrent which makes Torrent worthless in that fight. The Bubble Tear feels mandatory for that fight just so you can survive walking into the boss arena. And let's not forget the bosses 7 string combo where the boars head in the last two parts of the combo swings one direction and Gaius' overhead chop follow-up covers the other direction with perfect tracking, meaning if you dodge one attack you ARE getting hit by the other. You can't stand behind the boss because it'll just donkey kick you into oblivion. You can't hug it's ribs because the simple act of it's hitbox touching yours takes like 2/3's of your life bar.
Even with near-capped Seed upgrades the design philosophy of the bosses and areas are complete aids. Like I'm at a place that's basically the DLC's version of the Crumblin Farum Azula and the enemy placements in this level are complete friggin' booty cheeks. Not only do you have to deal with a whole bunch of those Omen Knights or whatever they are, but now they're infused with the power of Lightning! And they have a posse of fat priest types that hang out and cast, at a distance, what's essentially the Faith version of Firestorm, except each pillar of light spawns directly under your feet and they deal significant stagger damage and damage in general the moment they come into existence. And then behind those fat priests are another fat priest doing the exact same thing. I've died so many times right in front of the boss door because there's simply no avoiding that crap, especially when you have an Omen Knight hot on your trail.
With you guys on this one as well, I used rot and the 5 shieldmen of maximum chadness to tank it for me, dealing with its BS was just too stressing.
Every thread you're in you're doing nothing but being toxic af so I'm just reporting you and I encourage everyone else to do the same. He wont get a permanent ban but it'll give Stinky the necessary timeout he needs.
I'm going to take a break from this boss fatigue.
Try the shield ashes fam, they do tank it well.
I think the idea is to not stay in the horse. Some of his attacks you can dodge incredibly easy if you have the horse on your shortcuts and sprint on foot + Ride towards a direction.
His sky attack you can also mount for a sec to quickly gain some distance and dismount.
He also seems to only do his orb pull move if you are at a sort of mid range, so staying close and getting used to his close range stuff helps immensely.
