china review bombing
have you noticed that most of the negative reviews are from china? if you set the language to chinese in the filter settings you will notice that only 37% of the reviews are positive. for most other nations the average is around 80%.

I hate to break it you, but you might want to go back to school to learn math.

Even if the game was actually perfect, China would still review bomb it like they do.

Keep those stupid remarks to yourself. Where do we need to send you so you can learn to have a conversation like a human being?

If you’re looking for conspiracy theories and trying to blame a nation, that’s just sad. Imagine that others can have a different opinion, and it can be negative. No matter how long you cry about it, it won't change that.

It's just the general consensus over there. There are problems with performance and peeps pissed with difficulty spike, and it's their take, it's completely fair.

Review bombing is what happens as a response to something negative that a dev did, and the community starts to review all of their games negatively as a way to respond against them.

Every time anyone calls it "bombing", they are missing the point.

No, they are not missing the point. Because like a wave a ton of people leave bad reviews on purpose. Look at the review bombing of Elden Ring from the "no ultrawide" crowd when it came out. That was a lot, but it wasn't "fair".

It's like they're all weirdly pissed off about the depiction of the Dancing Lion or something.

But that's still valid.

It's their take. They are not going thru every Souls game and leaving a negative review. They are pissed off at the dlc. It has something big enough to make them leave a negative review. The DLC is the issue for them.

Review bombing is a completely different beast that is aimed at making an actually already known to be good thing suddenly be negative for the whole purpose of hurting the dev due to a sudden bad decision or action.

Stop acting like it's some plot to bring the game down, this is what the game did and it's the first impression it's leaving, period.

Western journos have been trying to sh!t on Black Myth Wukong's (a souls-like) developer, something Chinese media has no doubt picked up on. So now they're review bombing the foreign competition in retaliation. Seems pretty par for the course to me.

We have the right to leave a negative review if we don't like the game. What's wrong about that?

They did, but it sounds like you missed it.

show receipt maybe? according to steam scout, for the base game,

22.3% are simplified Chinese reviews, 17339 out of 191372 are negative, the score for this language is 91%

nothing wrong about it, the users using simplified Chinese are allowed to collectively give low score. It's just Steam needs to show it more clearly

I'm not acting like anything.

It's funny how ppl wilfully ignore that statistical anomaly here.
Why only China? Why not... Brazil? Why not India? Etc. I think the answer "it's just normal people who don't like it" is too easy. Ofc people who also dislike the DLC, which is totally en vogue here right now, would like to gloss over this with an elegant wave of the hand. And a "period!" as if that did anything ^^
Noop Jun 24, 2024 @ 6:20am
I think this is racist as f too but if Wukong is easier than Elden Ring and not a huge open world game why even play it. A soulslike that doesnt challenge you isnt realy a soulslike.

calling neutral statistics conspiracy theories shows how painfully biased you are

Put your tinfoil hat down my man. There might be a reason for it. Maybe people in china use different hardware, or older hardware. What if GPUs are too expensive in china so a lot of people can't afford the new ones?
Maybe it's a cultural thing just like how koreans are super into mindless p2w games and that's how Riot justified their 500 bucks skin that's completly stupid.

Yea there are a lot of possible reasons but unless you are going to actually sit down and analyze their market put your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tinfoil hat down.

China is actually second in terms of Steam accounts. So, hmm, if they don't like something, maybe it's as simple as taking off the tin foil hat and considering that. The conspiracy theories about an entire country conspiring to give negative DLC reviews are just hilarious.

They're blacklisting wukong because they refused to pay 7 million to sweet baby inc for diversity consultation.

Sbi is the reason we have assassins creed yasuke.

I've already preordered and everyone who cares about freedom of games should preorder.

Yes, it is the greatest irony that China is the spearfront of freedom of speech in games, goes to show you how far the west has fallen.

It's not about a statistical anomaly. They did something to piss them off. This is not a trend of china. Tell me, what other souls game has had been "review bombed by china"?

It's not being waved over, it's just that there people acting like it doesn't matter and should be ignored. China is the outlier simply due to population mass, you understand that right?

These people are really bad at logical thinking, so unfortunately instead of considering the situation and looking at the facts, they invent conspiracy theories and cry because their beloved DLC is simply bad and people plainly see it.

Yeah, maybe its one of those reasons you mentioned? What has asking this question to do with wearing a tinfoil hat?
