There's even one breaking down exactly the % of language reviews.
It's likely conspiracy garbage, but I heard something about a Chinese game dropping soon that might be somewhat similar to souls and they preemptively bombed this release so more people might be interested in getting the new game or something.
Like I said, probably 100% garbage.
"This game is too hard, but devs working on WuKong promise it won't be too hard. Chinese games #1."
Guessing a lot of the individual reviews are just randos joining the mob. But that's nothing new here, looking at twitter.
It's just the general consensus over there. There are problems with performance and peeps pissed with difficulty spike, and it's their take, it's completely fair.
Review bombing is what happens as a response to something negative that a dev did, and the community starts to review all of their games negatively as a way to respond against them.
Every time anyone calls it "bombing", they are missing the point.
Even if the game was actually perfect, China would still review bomb it like they do.
perhaps the chinese have worse rigs on average and therefore have to struggle with performance problems more often. otherwise it wouldn't explain the ratio between positive and negative ratings compared to other nations
No, they are not missing the point. Because like a wave a ton of people leave bad reviews on purpose. Look at the review bombing of Elden Ring from the "no ultrawide" crowd when it came out. That was a lot, but it wasn't "fair".
It's like they're all weirdly pissed off about the depiction of the Dancing Lion or something.
Because they are entitled.
