Explanation of the DLC Difficulty
Look, let me explain the difficulty of the DLC.

Even if your character is level 150, with 60 Vigor, 60 Strength, 60 Stamina, and wearing the Tree-Sentinel armor, when you enter the DLC, your character is treated as SLV1.

Each "Scadutree fragment" upgrade is approximately equivalent to 10 soul levels. So, before facing the main bosses, make sure to get around 4-5 upgrades to avoid struggling too much.

If you go in very "random" with only 1-2 upgrades, you'll be facing a boss at a difficulty level similar to Lies of P, "almost" like Sekiro, but underleveled. I'll repeat it: even if you're level 175-200, in the DLC your character has the power of an SL1.

stop being a ♥♥♥♥♥ and interact with the world, I think its a good system so all their hard work doesnt go to waste from some overleveled pos like you rushing through it.

I explored properly and have a bunch of fragments. Enemies and bosses still hit like a truck. You guys are acting like we learned nothing playing Elden Ring :steamfacepalm:

Bad players blaming the devs is the biggest tragedy of the decade.

There's literally nothing worse that's happened in the last ten years.

If you feel good on this 'design' is good(don't call it as 'difficulty'), then start to learn tekken and SF and get all the reward from tournaments. You can block all the hellsweeps if you feel comfortable in this dlc. Why are you hesitating to earn free jackpot money? Playing From game is waste of your life.

i've got +9 from 18 fragments i found. they still hit like trucks, indeed. i'm also on the mother methys fight or whatever her name is and went to all 3 finger ruins. i've done a pretty good amount of exploring in the game. it's wild the assumptions people not only make about those of us who don't like the scadutree fragment system, but how much they're willing to ignore anything we say to point out their assumptions are wrong.

how talented or skilled do you think the devs of this game are? do you think they're talented enough to balance the game around players having varying degrees of damage negation like upgrading armor would provide? because that's how half of the scadutree fragment system works. it simply increases your damage negation no differently than upgrading armor would. the other half of what it does is permanently boost the damage you deal. do you think the DLC is well balanced? do you think they could have done so with an armor upgrade system in place instead of the scadutree fragments? i think if people don't want the armor upgrade system back because they think it will make the game too hard to balance, then why do people defend the scadutree fragment system which effectively does that same thing while also permanently boosting the damage players who engage with it deal, unlike mere armor upgrades that can be swapped out for different armor sets and do not boost damage output in any way.

Did. Got bored. Turns out fighting enemies for runes that don't matter, and loot that doesn't matter, that were never a threat because you're 10 blessings above them but have to backtrack in case you missed a fragment somewhere is kind of lame.

I think theyre talented enough to interact with the game and beat it, in the gameplay demo the dev got close to beating Dancing lion and only stopped since it was pre-release. Upgrading armor has been a feature in past from soft titles (im happy they removed it.) I do think the dlc is well balanced. one of the first "starting bosses" of it is a literal training boss, Blackgaol knight to get you back into the swing of things. hardcore souls vets have long wanted a dlc this punishing and challenging and they served us well. Im roughly 10 hours in and have beaten 3 or 4 remembrance bosses with little to no issue and im only +5 blessing. going back to previous areas turns out I missed 3 minimum per area and still was doing fine. Which means that players less experienced than I am can get better stat buffs by then from the blessing system. The reason I defend the scadu system is cause if I as a game designer spent thousands of hours designing a dlc for a game that is widely considered our magnum opus by many Id want people to interact with my time and hard work, Id also notice that my playerbase was fond of over leveling to the point of trivializing most content so id envision something simple to counteract that and return the challenge to the game. Why do people insist on the endgame dlc for what we all know is a challenging game in a challenging franchise to not be the pinnacle of that is beyond me. Why else do you get into these games but to overcome the wall in front of you. Stop complaining and do it.

for anyone complaining about the difficulty: If you're speed running through areas just trying to find the next boss with no exploration, that's why you're mad and you can't progress. You're literally missing more than half the dlc by playing this way. EXPLORE. These games are not just about the bosses!

Ill grovel at your feet if I cant beat them :D but I have platinumed all from titles, 3 on this steam account and all of them on my PS5. Some of us just have things we need to do away from gaming and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that we have to go back through areas in a dlc we happily paid for

I mean... I've explored absolutely everywhere I could get to (except that green area of the map) And just fought Commander Gaius. He still 1 shots you if that charge pins you against the fog gate. And my spirit ash blessing is at +7 (dont know if i've missed any), and they still also get demolished in seconds. (still dont know if its a bug or not with it not applying to regular spirits only named ones).

So... people are hyping up the Scadu blessings. But They really dont seem to have a huge effect on some of the hardest hitting boss moves. Regular attacks sure. But the ones designed to be one shots or close to it? Those are still gonna 1 shot.

I dont like talking about if things are easy or hard. It's too subjective. I will say I think either the shadow blessing system isn't working correctly, or that it's flawed a little in how it's been implemented.
