Navigating the Specimen Storehouse help

Just wondering where on earth I need to go in the Storehouse, since it feels like I'm missing a place to go that leads somewhere important. I see ledges where I know I haven't gone before, and it feels like I've looked for every conceivable path that would lead there. I swear I know in my gut this place leads to the rest of the whole map and I just can't figure it out.
For the record, I've already made it to and beaten Mem-serr, I don't mean that way. I've seen the lift on the outside of the Storehouse from the bridge that leads to his chamber, and I figure that's a part of the places I wanna go.

A large chunk of the storehouse is only accessible through the church district, so from the plateau to the east.

Ya know in a museum the signs say "Don't climb on the exhibits."
Those signs aren't here wink wink.

Edit: I clearly didn't read your whole post. On the out door areas, look over ledges. I believe there's one or two drop downs
