To everyone who cries about the DLC difficulty.
TLDR: git gud

I understand how popular Elden Ring is and how it attracted a major audience of players where many of them are new to the Souls games that are made by FromSoftware. They had the freedom in the base game to explore, to get themselves overpowered, sit on a horse and spam crazy INT skills by just simply cheesing every moving object on sight, but here's the DLC. It's been clearly stated that it's an ENDGAME CONTENT and the devs have commented that THE ENEMIES/BOSSES IN THE DLC ARE SCALING ON YOUR CHARACTER'S LEVEL, NOT ON YOUR NG+. So about the "casuals", they go in to the area, they are used to those frame gaps where they could easily take their time in summoning a Mimic or to shoot a massive laser beam with their staff, but instead, a boss in this DLC, takes no time and just slaps you to the ground and what do we get? BOOHOO, THIS DLC IS NO FUN! HOW IS THIS SO HARD, IT MAKES NO SENSE!!! No my brothers in Christ, this is a YOU problem, not the DLC's problem. The DLC is beautiful, full of everything, the bosses are challenging, some might be even stronger than Malenia, but you've been warned about the endgame difficulty and you should've obviously predicted it because the bosses you need to kill to even get there are Mohg and Radahn who are both in the Top 5 of most difficult bosses when it comes to the base game. Stop negative review bombing the most GOATed DLC of all time and go back to playing GTA V RP servers.

That's quite a thick-skulled take, people aren't review bombing the dlc, they're dissatisfied with it and giving their opinions. Fs kinda did this to themselves, first releasing a game targetting more casual players, then going full in on the dlc difficulty.
Do you think casual players read the interviews? Mocking the people leaving reviews or dissagreeing with you really wont change their mind

Casuals have grown an ego big enough to say that the difficulty is "broken" rather than admitting to not being simply good enough. I can agree with the reviews who talk about bad PC port, optimization issues etc etc, but saying that the DLC bosses and content is too difficult, that's just pure bs. The content is intended to be hard and it's completely fine.

To be fair, Radahn isn't really that difficult ever since they nerfed him. Mohg ain't too bad either, and I've even one cycled him a few times while being underleveled.

The DLC is for those that are looking for a challenge post game. The fact people are upset about the difficulty shows that pandering to a wider audience is a double edged sword.

I was surprised i was nearly able to 1 cycle Mogh when I prepared a fresh toon, something I would have never wished with on release with a way weaker build and being lower level with less focus on offense.

People can say "I KILLED MALENIA AND IT REALLY JUST WASN'T AS HARD AS PEOPLE SAY IT IS LOL", but when the full context of the battle comes to the clean skies, you will see some stuff like "Rivers of Blood, "Moonveil", "Overpowered INT builds", "+10 Mimic", "Level 180+ on NG0" etc etc. To be fully honest, I don't go around public and scream like an activist that this is bad, this makes u look like a noob and all those bad things. Every player decides how they wanna play the game and how they gonna approach each boss and it's completely fine by me. My point is, people who plays this DLC the traditional souls way aka study the boss to the bone, time your attacks, time your dodges, know when to parry etc etc, it's usually those people that have 0 issues with the difficulty scaling or whatever the problems are, but the people who tried to change the difficulty levels of the game are complaining and it's an obvious sight on the DLC's store page when you look at the review section. I wish the people who write negative reviews on the gameplay side would include the full context such as "MY MIMIC DOES NOT DAMAGE", "I HAVE NO TIME TO LAUNCH MY SUPER DUPER MAGIC ATTACK", "MY SHIELD GETS STAGGERED" etc etc

Stop calling this game difficult, it isn't. It's just difficult to get along with because of it's mechanics that some people find to be ass.. It cracks me up that people equate their button mashing timing to anything resembling an actual skill. There is no skill in video gaming, it's mindless entertainment. It's like trying to ascribe skill to watching a movie. If you didn't like the movie you need to "gitgud!" Lol, just stop already..

The DLC doesn't scale off of NG+? Then how come my level 550 friend is able to take a hit just fine on NG+1 wearing carian knight armor while my NG+7 level 490 ass wearing full bull goat and greatshield talisman is getting ass-♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the slightest tap? There's no way it doesn't scale off of NG+

Too many casuals who believe they should be handled a victory on a silver plate if they followed the next meta build in existence.

That's why it got review bombed (and yes, bombed, it's unreasonable behavior from some self-entitled kids).


Are the mechanics great? No, but without them the game would be more difficult to balance.

They should not back down and make the DLC more simpler, they should first fix some bugs and glitches, including some DLC weapons not scaling at all/improperly, also fix some scaling related bugs with AoW's and their new mechanic.

But hell no: they should not make it easy or more accessable. It took me barely ~20 hours to get through the DLC and that as someone who barely touched Souls games for a year.

On point. All of the people crying are casuals who got into souls like games starting with elden ring. If you played this ♥♥♥♥ since dark souls 1 you're probably fine with it and having a blast, as am i. I've busted the B key on my joystick after 4 hours of getting absolutely bitchslapped by Messmer, had to get my spare joystick in order to continue playing and after 5 hours i finally killed and yelled SUCK THAT GINGER ♥♥♥♥.

People forget Dark Souls and Soulsbourne ♥♥♥♥ aren't about getting gut, but about getting patient.

That being said, 100/10 content. Can't wait for the next dlc and i'm about 50% on this one.
It's a 4chan discord OP to get people to negatively review the game, the base game has the same gameplay loop of exploration->boss fight.
