Nothing better than those in base game. Nothing to speak of for magic users, and only two decent armour sets. One at the begining and the other at end game. of course I also missed alot I'm guessing.

none so far, still using rivers of blood.

i guess the fist weapons are alright but yeah they ain't rivers.

oh i know, i guess messmer's spear is nice although i can't figure out where to use it, to moves are flashy and smooth but you'll die before reaching the final combo.

I've been trying to run Curseblade's Cirque.

It's awful for bosses. But, does stun-lock most trash mobs you'll find.

It's got 2 movesets so can be really tricky for pvp...
HOWEVER, the damage is abysmal.
Not really worth it, trying to hit someone 20 times,
only to trade into a greatsword and die in 3 swings.

I'm using the Claymore and or the Greatsword of Solitude. I also found a Meteoric Ore Colossal greatsword. It's R2 is thrust, which is sick, one of the reasons I love the Claymore

Sword that casts sorceries on heavy attacks and staff that casts sorceries and incantations

So far, DLC weapons have been flashy but lack substance. Although there are a few outliers with potential, vanilla weapons are still better for now.

Great Katana moveset is very good and it staggers pretty reliably, but it's a super basic weapon. Ash of War jigen/ichimonji stuff is awesome

Rellana Swords are flashy and cool but they do absolutely nothing to posture outside the heavy ash of war, also triple damage types = rip scaling

Backhand chakrams are my bae, I can actually play the game instead of waiting my turn all day. Damage sucks unless you put cold/bleed on it then it starts to come online

I like the backhand blades. They're not an op weapon to 1 shot bosses with, but you can use the art of war they come with to dodge attacks, which means you can get hits in between some slower boss combos, and their swings are pretty wide which isn't important for boss fights but its just a nice to have for when there's like 5 basic mobs all standing on top of each other. I'm just using quality, but they'd apply status really fast if you chose to use them for that.

The light greatswords also seem like they'd be fun and winged stance heavy does a lot of stagger, but I haven't tried actually building one. Their moveset looks fun though, and if you're just looking for power I think you could get something similar to an unsheathe build with katanas, which to me feels very easy and consistently good.

Also I've seen some streamers play. The op weapon seems to be the bleed hammer that bleeds in like 2 swings (think its a colossal but might be a great hammer). Its also a regular weapon, so you could put cragsblade on it if you just really want it to be op.

Meteoric ore greatsword seems quite good as well, but not really my style of weapon.

I want to like throwing daggers too... but they suck. The range is so short it feels like I might as well just be using a katana or something. They do like half the damage of everything else. And if you try to do something like put cold on them they apply like 40 frost. I don't see any use for them other than holding an ash of war (like the frost stomp from the divine beast is decent and can be put on them), or putting fire on them to reset frost.

TLDR: backhand blade is good against slow bosses (where you can weave weapon arts between their moves) and the invader type bosses (the ones you can stagger consistently, you just wait for them to attack and use the weapon art). Bleed colossal hammer is op. Everything else seems to be something you play cause you just like the weapon.

The backhand blades are beyond sick. Being able to hit that retaliation move right before getting hit to stack bleed is so incredibly addicting. Ive been using them in tandem with the milady + impaling thrust for stagger and its been great so far. Also the ash from the lion boss is fantastic as well.

Repeating crossbow with bleed bolts is pretty great
