The DLC is a hit out the park and to the sun, but the devs *still* don't know how to make a proper camera angel, and probably never will.
Got every boss in the dirt besides the final one, and I've been loving every bit of the DLC, but the cameras is the only issue I truly have, and basically all of ER in general. The camera angels overall are bad, or at least not favored to different players.

My issue is that the camera tries its best to keep the *player* in view, when that doesn't matter worth anything, because I want to focus on what the *enemy* is doing. I already know how to react, I already know what I as the player can do/where I am in relation to the boss, I just need to be able to clearly see whats going on with the enemies actions.

And of course its only an issue when bosses are bigger than the player. They're always *just* out of frame when close to them as they're idle, and at worst they block your view entirely, or their attack slips pretty much entirely out of frame, so you just have to know the timings by heart. Some of the larger DLC bosses are alright with their cameras, most of them are annoying or frustrating fights simply because of how restrictive the camera is visibility wise. I've died yelling "I can't see!" more times than I even want to count, and It doesn't add anything interesting to the difficulty.

The one boss I've seen people say things about is The Hippo. The thing isn't that hard when you can get in in a decent view window. You can actually kinda loop the thing if you stay on it's good side. But the camera. The *camera* is what frustrated me. I was fighting blind at certain points and that makes it so irritating because the camera isn't the entity that's attacking me, its the boss.

And they've already shown that they can make a good camera with some bosses in Souls titles, the best camera angels I say come from Yhorm, Darkeater Midir, The Twin Demons/Demon Prince, Nameless King. But other bosses like The Rotten, Giant Lord, Ava, Lud and Zallen, Crossbreed Priscilla, Sif, and Taurus Demon are all big bosses that have cameras that are pretty good, and that's just off the top of my head.

Highest of hopes for anything Fromsoft Soulsborne anything that comes in the future, but I have so little faith that they'll know what it means to make a good camera angel by the time the next title, or DLC, or anything rolls around.

yeah the lion boss was annoying because of the camera. A lot of times I'd get stuck under him when he starts doing the spinning spit attack and I'd kinda have to guess when to dodge.

A lot of responses to this was "Just unlock the camera, dummy" and to be honest I never really got good at fighting bosses without lock on so that's a skill issue on my part, however I feel like if Fromsoft is going to make a game with lock on mechanics, they need their lock on camera to work properly, and it shouldn't be my fault that the camera spazzes out and provides unplayable angles lol

Camera being annoying af is the first legit criticism i've seen.

I completely forgot about the Dancing Lion, also a very horrid camera angel, probably worse than the one I originally mentioned, but I never heard anything about him so I kinda forgot.

I actually liked that bosses camera, tbh so far he’s my favorite boss, just because of the presentation.

idk it could be because he has to points you can lock onto but i remember getting more frustrated with him having 3 phases

See if you think about it like the boss just having one big health bar, its a lot easier to take the fight. His third phase attack was really the only thing that I was truly worried about after a good few attempts.

I hate the camera in this game, it's one of the many crosses ER has to carry from DS3 because Slop-Souls can't let it go. No I don't think DS3 had good angles, if so why is the camera in ER so bad, with the exact same glitchy behavior as the DS3 one?

I don't think the DLC is that good, it's boring. The damage on enemies is just there to force padding and make the DLC feel longer than it is.

PS: the tree boss camera is just as horrible as every other boss.

I will never understand why they couldn't make the Lion boss have small, waist sized fences on a more open area so that the camera doesn't go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you are close to it and has his crotch on your face.

This would have given the camera room to actually move out, but ehhhhhhhhh.

I killed him already so im not worried and yes that attack was very annoying also its just weird they would use a three boss fight on a giant sunflower of all things
