best platform?
I have a PS5 and a series X. Also my PC has 6900XT with AMD 3700X, will I be able to play this on 4k 60+fps stable on my machine? or is it still buggy on PC? I heard that not even a 4090 can max it despite having modest graphics.

There are no mods on console so this isnt a real question.

i don't care about mods, i just want the game to work and not crash. is it stable on PC yet?

I can't tell you if the game will run on your hardware. Im on a 2080S and Ryzen 7 5700X and I have only slightly issues in the DLC. But Im not stupid and ofc dont play on 4k so yea idk man.
Go google your hardware + elden ring and see what experience other people have.

can you play it at 4k60 max settings with those specs? absolutely. will it be stable? not really. Same problems that existed with the base game at launch are present here, as in -- there's quite a bit of hitching. lowering the quality and/or resolution doesn't really do much to fix this, when I go from 1440p max to 1080p low I only get around an extra 5-10fps. Some people are saying EAC is to blame although I'm not so sure about that, would have to see how the pirate version runs for that.

Oh and I haven't had any crashes, but others are saying they do, especially AMD users from the looks of it.

yah that is what i am worrying about, if two years later and still facing same issues at launch, I guess I will just go with a console version. unless these also suffer from stability issues.

I played the game at launch on 5700xt, it ran like dogsh1te. Didn't try it ever since. Tried it again on my 7900xtx, runs really well 4k120+ fps. The DLC is unoptimized however, often dropping to 60fps in certain scenarios. The base game runs smooth now tho.

Idk why very few people know this but you can disable EAC very easily. Replace start_protected_game.exe with eldenring.exe and the game will start offline without EAC.

I had issues with it after release cuz I had worse hardware and it did help a lot.

Disabling EAC means you won't see other player's messages anymore, right? I don't care about summoning, I never use it in Demon Souls or Dark Souls. But the messages do add a lot of charm to the game.

Nice, this tells me it is possible to unlock the game to 120fps which is a plus for PC.

Oh yea I agree, I play online too cuz I like seeing other players and especially blood puddles. It's often funny to see people run off a ledge by accident.

But if the game runs better for you without it I would take that over playing online any day.

bear in mind that using a mod to unlock the framerate will cause more stability issues as the game logic is tied to the framerate

play on console, PC is a waste of time, base game ran like crap and so does the DLC, they won't patch it and if they do it won't be perfect

makes sense, it is also cheaper there anyway as I can buy it used.

PC is the worst way to play Elden Ring though console also struggles with framerate its not as bad as pc
Cosmic Corpse Jun 23, 2024 @ 6:47am
12700k and a 4070 super. 4k/60 max settings.

Can't wait for consoles to die off and games are properly made for pc. They're just inferior to computers.
