DLC is endgame.
Am I alone in viewing the DLC as endgame?

Throughout the base game I NEVER felt the need or felt pressured to summon anyone. Now NG7+ in the base game, It is out of joy for jolly co-op that I summon and nothing more.

However this DLC can really make you sweat, and I love it. For the very first time I felt like "yeah I could use a hand" and I commend FROMSOFT for this.

I'm not trying to flex on anyone, or say GIT GUD (for real though, get good), but I am really happy with the pacing and difficulty this DLC has provided. For the first time in the game I genuinely appreciated the help from someone and that's cool.

Does anyone else feel pretty satisfied with the difficulty and almost relieved that they have a reason to call for aid?

Happy slaying,

Tarnished.

Endgame is a mechanic which allows continuous play after completing the game (story). ER and the DLC do not offer endgame. Once you're done exploring/beating the bosses the game is over.

Sounds a whole like new game plus! You beat the story and are allowed to play continuously with slight increases to difficulty each time to a max of 7.

The DLC adds a layer of difficulty that has been missing and it's nice to see something that makes the palms sweat.

I agree. There should of been a gatekeeping boss like in Darksouls 1. Sounds odd, but it was a good vibe check for people that run tight lvl builds.

for some Clarity I am lvl 200 NG7+???

Nah... it's hard because they want you to explore and get insane resistances before beating certain bosses.

Also, I really don't get the "for real, get good" while you're talking about how you need summons. Nothing wrong with summoning, but if you can't beat a fight without someone else's help, it means it was too hard for you.

Despite how Miyazaki claimed it, the DLC is unquestionably end-game. It actually makes the entire scaling mechanic redundant intended only to inflate playtime because, due to the nature of it being end-game design contrary to his claims, everyone will be built up so the mechanic is actually just a padding element rather than to curb scaling.

Not funny, and maybe don't say "for real" when you're joking. People spam that constantly, so you can't just say it ironically and expect people to take it as a joke.

If this was 2010 sure, I could see that.

Bro it has been like 15 years since "get good" hit the scene. If anyone uses it, it's gotta be irony.

I'll just say one last thing.

Get good you scrub and you're probably bad at Guilty Gear too.

You're talking about postgame. Endgame is the final stage of the game.

I'm on the last boss of the DLC without summons. Good job having other people beat it for you, you're a true souls veteran.

And you better not respond, you said that was the last thing.

That's one definition of endgame, applicable to the likes of ARPGs and MMOs. Not here, not in games where there's no intention of there being a perpetual gameplay loop.

In more traditional games endgame simply refers to something existing as part of the game's final stretch, whether in terms of difficulty level, strength of gear, or the chronological point at which a gameplay element is encountered.

SotE's difficulty level would most assuredly be described as 'endgame'. Such is typical of Souls games though, the DLCs have always been more difficult than any part of the vanilla game.

This is a very important point because when people say "endgame" most people think MMO like you said and the term becomes diluted.

Time to beat this dlc as a level 1 wretch.

THISSSSSSSSS!

It doesn't reset to a full level 1 but takes your game and puts another (debatable if good or not) progression system on top for scaling but this ♥♥♥♥ is endgame.

You HAVE to beat Mohg to get here. That is a SKILL CHECK.

It really is that simple.
