Edit. Try leaving your summon sign at the boss you know a bit, Fire Giant and Godfrey are pretty easy bosses tho- at least I didn't struggle too much with them. You cant do much if host dies.
Btw, why you need those arcs so badly, I have finished the game (base game) without using them at all tbf xD
I nearly never used them because the effects are pretty meeeh
To be completely fair, new run is pretty fast and easy ngl, I started new character, beaten Margit and Godrick - these two took more than estimated time because for some reason my frames were droping to even 15 (Godrick specifically) so I died a lot, then straight to liurnia, starty varry's quest, get to moghwyn palace - spend around an hour farming runes, then you solo radahn in seconds, get smithing stone bells in 2 early dungeons - weapons +12, Godfrey (the gold one), Margott ez, more smithing bells for +25 weapons and you're already in endgame. I think full speedrun shouldn't take more than 10-15 hours especially you should be faster considering how many NG+ you have (ive beaten game once, and NG run up to Radahn and Mogh took me around 6 hours - just because of many tries against Margit and Godrick).
and not just completely optional, slight bonus.
If you're so desperate for some Rune Arcs, for whatever reason,
you can farm rats. Be warned drop rate is low.
Rats drop Rune Arcs very commonly.
Never depend on a finite resource to get things done, it was just supposed to be a little help in special situations, not something to be used for every boss run.
I'm the opposite which isn't ideal either - I never use something that I might run out of, so it's all sitting in my inventory lol.
But seriously, you'll just have to manage without them, you'll just have to be more careful and progress a little slower.
Yeah never do FromSoft DLC at higher than regular game if you can avoid it. Though in this case here the bosses are extremely overtuned no matter which game cycle you are in. Getting parried is a one-shot, combos are 2- or 3-shot no matter which level you are at.
I personally use Morgott Rune for 25% more health that is applied on top of other HP boosting buffs and items. You can get above 3000HP this way. It also affects your Mimic what can make him super tanky and even more OP.
However, I'm not you.
I can't cheese a boss in .06 seconds, I can't dodge everything thrown at me and make it through without even being so much as scratched, I can't perfectly time a parry like it's nothing.
I rely mostly on the boost the arks give me because that's the only way I can really play, anything less and I die repeatedly, I need them because to put it simply.
I'm not you.
Farm rats then.
Those in Siofra river almost always drop Rune Arc for me without even farming it.
