"Inappropriate activity detected" While playing on Steam Deck/Linux - Workaround/Fix identified
With many others having also reporting this issue, I'm reporting the same issue with Elden Ring displaying "Inappropriate activity detected" upon launch on my Steam Deck as well and forcing offline mode. The game works perfectly fine when launched on my PC using Windows 11.

Tried many methods in attempt to fix: Restarting Steam Deck, verifying file integrity, uninstalling, reinstalling, launching from desktop mode, changing/forcing Proton version compatibility, all of these methods have been unsuccessful on my Steam Deck. If anyone else has any further ideas please feel free to post. Hoping for a hot fix soon.

Not yet tested on the Steam Deck and not owning the new DLC.
With Fedora 39, Proton 9.7 i received that same message and wasn't able to log in to the online services. In the Logs EAC was complaining about a missing file called "DLC.bdt". I just created an empty file named "DLC.bdt" in the Gamefolder were the other .bdt files are located and now i am able to login to online services.

I just had it LIVE on stream on a completely legit account / character and all.

I've tried all from above too, the best i could do was grab the start_protected_game.exe and put it in my steam library and ran that with proton experimental. the downside is your save files won't be there meaning you'll have to start from scratch. I've seen other people posting saying they have copied save files over (how i have no idea) but then ive seen another post here saying you can be banned for doing that lol. So if you wanna start over until there is a fix there's that option. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ i know, but is what it is i guess :/

Same issue. Verify integrity of game files, repair Easy Anti-Cheat, and maybe wait until the bugs are fixed. There appears to be a few causing this issue. First time it happened to me. Messed up part isn't what happened to me, as that might have been from waiting too long idle to get summoned as there's nothing to do. It's that Steam Deck users in particular are reporting this the most online. Bandai is aware of this. Anywho, play legit just to get banned. XD

Sad Soulsbro, sad Soulsbro.

Easy-Anti Cheat has totally broken this game for me, it won't even launch. Until they patch this issue I can't play the game at all.

Probably not. After doing as stated I was able to log back in after restarting my computer. It did fix something when verifying the game files that is.

This method is unfortunately not solving the problem for everyone. EAC is mentioned in a lot of posts as a possible culprit also.
