It's never Fromsoft's fault, it's always a skill issue
It's a tiring thing to repeat at this point. It is repeated more than the Lord's Prayer on sunday.

Elden beast keeps running away in a big arena, making 80% of the fight a running simulator? Not a design issue, skill issue
Ulcerated tree spirit fight in a small room is a horrible fight? Nope, it's not bad design, it's the player's fault.
Fallen Star beast with wide attacks that can cover 60% of the fighting arena and who's charge attack can circle the arena 6 times? No no, it's not horrible to fight him in a small cave at all.
Godskin Fatty being able to cancel/transition into his roll attack in less than 5 frames? And he can roll for an eternity? Git gud buddy. If you can't react in 83 millisecond, your head is clearly caved in.
Gargoyle duo's poison being nigh invisible, have ambiguous hitbox and decimates health bars in seconds? Nuh uh, it's perfectly designed, not Fromsoft's fault at all.
Mogh's Nihil who's only counter is 1 specific tear dropped from a random enemy in a random church in a random part of the map, or chugging potions? Totally a great mechanic that only high IQ people can see the true depth of Fromsoft's genius.

Remember, maintaining the agenda is the top priority. Fromsoft is flawless and anyone who criticise anything they make is just too dumb and inept in life to understand the only perfect thing in this imperfect world.

This is all sarcasm by the way, Fromsoft is not perfect and Miyazaki is not a god. Some of their designs genuinely ♥♥♥♥

Had a discussion with a buddy of mine a few minutes ago about this. This game is looked at like it's some gift from God himself when I am failing to see how this is anything near. It's great design to have to look up guides just to not mess up quests, right? I'm not saying the game is bad but it's no where near what these people make it out to be.
Skill issue. Cope. Unfairness works both ways. Take out rivers of blood and all bleed builds. Or unga bunga swords. Or all magic, especially comet azur and night comet.

Pure cope.

They don't care if they need to summon three of their friends to beat the first boss as long as they're able to see the credits, since now they can tell everyone they beat the hard game.

Ah just one thing, Mohg’s Nihil attack is heavily telegraphed as he stops everything to slowly raise his trident. Then you know to heal a couple times then continue as normal.

you can dodge. if you didn't think to dodge or can't time it, that's not someone else's fault. you can skip it, too

i wish i thought this post was trolling. "good" design does not mean whatever happens to be easy and intuitive for you, personally

It's actually the opposite. Dark Souls was "hard" because no one was used to this new type of game genre. Time passes and people learn to have a different mindset when playing. Now, even casual players can play through the game.
But now, hardcore players can't flex their big gamer pp, so they say things are too easy since the "casuals" are now in, so Fromsoft makes it harder. Hardcores clear it, proud to once more flex their big gamer pp.
But casuals catch up after a few months. Game is too easy again. Make it harder, cried the hardcore crowd. Fromsoft shrugged with Atlas and made the next game harder.
But there's "challenging" hard and "unfair" hard. Casual can clear challenging hard, so Fromsoft have no choice into delving into unfair hard to please the hardcore audience's never ending demand to make it harder.

you can dodge. if you didn't think to dodge or can't time it, that's not someone else's fault. you can skip it, too

Omg, I didn't know! I thought my screen turning blood red and him yelling Nihil every 2 seconds was all just cinematic fluff. Does that mean I can dodge it? Counter it? Stop it?
Oh wait, no. It's either heal or use the purifying crystal tear. Damn, and I thought you were onto something.

I agree 100% it's like From is running out of ideas at this point. They just repeat the same environmental hazards, the same bosses over and over in different areas. It's like Fromsoft is borrowing from Dark Souls 2. I'm saying this as a fan of the souls games for the past 15 years. He's running out of new ideas, and little innovation is being shown. Fromsoft are not pushing boundaries anymore. Just because Dark Souls has a giant map to explore that doesn't mean innovation. It just means we\re following trends here.:steamsalty:

what? Did I mention the DLC? I don't even have the DLC. Why are you jumping at the defence of something that isn't even a part of this conversation?

Unless... you're projecting. You too, deep down inside, can't handle the DLC, knows the DLC is too hard. Your fist clenching as a graze takes down 70% of your health. Your bitter sorrow and anguish surfaces as the "YOU DIED" message pops onto your screen for the 12th time in the last half hour. You swallow your anger, your pride, your ego. You mutter under your tears, "Fromsoft is perfect. Miyazaki is God. I'm just not good enough". Your character respawns at the site of grace. "I'm just not good enough" you sob.

you say it's sarcasm, but it's actually 100% accurate. the game is flawless and the failure is yours.
