furnace golem not weak to fire pots?

a note from a "furnace keeper" says to keep fire pots away from the furnace golems, also "tornado pots" i havent found any tornado pots or craft writs, but fire pots i can make. they dont seem to do anything though. am i doing something wrong? do i have the wrong pots maybe or is this not what the note means

I also found that note and I haven't tried the whirlwind ones, but I have tried the classic ones and it literally did nothing, I have also tried throwing it to it's face, but my guy can't even throw that high up so I always hit a leg or something and I did like 100 damage lol

I kill them the classic way... I just beat their legs up until they fall on their stomach so I can do like 30k damage with the critical hit.

I was throwing it into the basket of his head and there is a face on the side you have to hit. The fire pots didn't do much damage at all. Ended up not needing them.

you need to fully stun him (that is, he must fall to the floor)
throw ONE hefty fire pot on his head (the flames)
then hit the weakspot before he recovers from the stun.

You need to throw them into the open area on its head. The hitbox is awful so you'll likely need to stun it. It's a shame they botched this enemy

this gimmick only works with golems you can get high enough up to land a pot in their heads. theres a few but outside of doing massive damage itself, while the golem charges its homing fireball attack the pot with do extra damage and stun it for a second.

There are two types of Furnace Golems.
Type 1- unarmoured legs (roped). These can be knocked down after "breaking" their legs three times. Can be the same leg or either.
Once they are knocked down, critical hit their face then run to the front and throw a heft fire or hefty furnace pot in their head basket

Type 2- armoured legs (metal sheets on ankles)
These cannot be knocked down as they won't take damage if you hit their ankles like Type 1.
Find a spot above them, usually a spirit spring will take you up a cliff or you can ride up one.
Throw Hefty Fire or Hefty Furnace pots in their head basket until they doe

Use the hefty fire pots to damage the fire giants. The vortex pot, is only to wake up, one specific giant. An easy way to take down the non armored ones, is to get them to fall, smack their face, then run to the head, and chuck a hefty in.

The hefty furnace pots do not work if the Furnace Golem is currently stunned.
I couldn't get any hefty furnace pots to do any damage while they were stunned laying down.
First do the riposte on their face, then quickly run up to the front and toss a furnace pot up and in. It doesn't outright kill them, but does a ton of damage.
