The game freezes indefinitely until I alt-tab

Like every ~10 minutes it freezes and the only way to make it move is to alt-tab

Is anyone else getting this? I can barely play the game because it keeps doing it during boss fights and I've wasted hours of my life trying different things to fix it

The funny thing is i never had any real issues with the game before, i know a lot of people did and the game always has shader compilation stutter but it was very minor for me. But now the DLC comes out I can't play it because of this. Ugh! Miyazaki-san why is your code so bad

I'm gonna test to see if its something like refresh rate or something else stupid.

HERE IS THE SAME THING!!!! My game is freezing all the time. My drivers is all uptaded. I need help, please.

I tried updating my bios, my windows, my refresh rate, gysnc. It just kinda goes for awhile until it starts locking up, pressing alt-tab or the windows key works to bring it back to life but it might happen again fairly shortly thereafter. Video driver is up to date.
Even better this is a fresh install of windows.

I'm on windows 11; no idea if there's just some setting i need to futz with on it.

I'll try putting it to fullscreen mode; i just usually don't because i have two monitors.

ok, i tested with fullscreen, it seemingly took longer, but thats it, it still did it in the end.

Alright, after following a trail of terrible post chains that were massively unhelpful that finally led me to this article:

The important line is this:
“This issue can be prevented by deleting the hidden folder C:\$WinREAgent. A restart might be required. After following these steps, installing the February 2024 security update should succeed.”

So i proceeded to do the following steps
1. Delete C:\$WinREAgent.
2. Reboot
3. Check windows update
4. Suddenly see an update that wasn't there before, install it
5. Reboot
6. Delete C:\$WinREAgent. again just be safe.
7. Reboot again.

I played for almost a couple hours, no lockups, i went area to area, boss to boss on an lower level character so i could cover more ground (because i didn't want to waste resources dying in the DLC because of the issue).
So seemingly this worked for me at least for windows 11.

I guess i should mention, this issue suddenly came back for me. I tried a few different options but I haven't had any luck figuring out where the problem is.
I even tried the option of setting the shader cache size to unlimited as some people recommended this to no effect.
