If you feel like the DLC is hard, read this!
You need to get more scadutree blessings.

What I found out:
1. When i started the DLC, the most basic enemies in the Scorched Ruins needed a lot of hits to die. Now, after getting blessings, they die in just two hits. Same for the Messmer soldiers. My scadutree blessing is +4, and most of the enemies became noticeably more easier.

2. I started the DLC on level 100, with +18 weapons and I received/dealt VERY similar damage to those who are on lvl 130 +25.

3. There are some new weapons introduced in the DLC that have movesets that are great for the DLC's change of difficulty. (looking at you, backhand blade) You need to learn and utilize the new weapon types to your advantage.

So the blessings are really important. Oherwise, I feel like the DLC is more focused on the good old learning the moveset of the bosses, somehow it feels more similar to Dark Souls than to Elden Ring which I really love because I felt like the base game was a bit on the easier side. The enemies and bosses (especially the optional bosses) reuire time and effort but can be defeated if you put in the time to learn their moveset.

You also need to know that the DLC (regardless of the new blessing system) is supposed to be more difficult than the base game, which has been the case for especially Dark Souls 3. It is a joy to defeat a challange that the game gives you, and don't forget that at the core of Elden Ring is the same concept: difficult challange-> defeat-> rewarding feeling

-> let's not forget that many lategame bosses in bse game ER already 2-3 hitted you. The DLC needs to be on that same level.

----> BUT I do think there needs to be a balancing patch, but it's in the right direction.

- Essentially, with the blessings, it feels like everyone starts at level 1, and you 'level up' based on your blessing level.

- You need to master the bosses' movesets, perfect your dodges and not just literally ram and tank them like we did in the base game to some optional bosses

I feel like the bosses are very similar to Midir/Gael.

nah it's really not rewarding when the difficulty comes from overtuned mobs. want me to learn to dance with a mob with hard to read moves? great. want me to have to fight 3 mobs at once? fine. want me to keep banging up against a simple mob that just input reads and hits for 2x the damage i do? f off.

^ If you refuse to collect the dls powerup mcguffins, you deserve to play hard mode. As OP mentioned, the game becomes multiple times easier with each collected.

why do people keep pointing to those dumb blessings as if they make a difference? they aren't just hanging around, genius, you have to go find them. guess what's between them and the character? more overtuned mobs. your logic isn't as sound as you think it is.
