My GPU is an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, and CPU intel i9 10980XE, which should (and has already) been fine to run elden ring before. When it's not crashing the performance has been awful in both DLC and non-DLC areas compared to open areas before as well.
Use DDU to completely wipe all traces of your current driver and reinstall the latest version afterward.
Oddly enough, the game seems stable on my gaming laptop which is a 7840HS paired with a 4060. Maybe the update doesn't play well with processors with a high core count? I dunno. I've tried everything on my desktop. Verified files. Fresh drivers. Reinstalled Elden Ring. Lowered fidelity settings. Everything. Still crashes and reboots my PC.
Reboot your PC and then verify your game files.
Already did, same issue. After experimenting some more I found out that only certain graphics options causes crashing on loading a save. Others make the game crash in 4~5min. Fia's mirror is 100% crashes. Will try reinstalling an older driver to see if the problem still happens.
Thanks very much for the suggestion but this didn't fix the problem. Also tried installing some previous drivers for my card and it's the same result - the game totally bricks out within a few mins of action
