And not only her, after a couple of bosses I get the vibe that they've dropped the Souls approach of "every bit of damage can be avoided" in favor of "If the players figure out how to do it hitless, cool, but it's not our problem."
Overall I'm liking the DLC, but it feels more like a fantasy Hack'n'Slash than a Souls game.
Found a strategy that worked for me pretty fast (Milady+Jump-thrusts via that new ash of war) so it was a matter of learning her moves and weave in my own jump-thrusts. In doing so I actually had a very good time while I (still) struggle with the lion like there's no tomorrow.
I dunno ... somehow I just love her (music/armor/theming) but I do agree that she feels the kind of "overboard" that I expected from From in this DLC. It's honestly a miracle that I've beaten her solo without ashes since I never ever finished Godskin Duo/Maliketh or the very final boss without them. Maybe the doge-/jump-attack strategy only worked in my favor this one time but I find her strangely engaging.
That being said: All bosses of this DLC feel like they need some tweaking tbh.. From is catering to elitist-/and pro gamers with the DLC already by adding this new upgrade mechanic.
Really? How :-D (in case next time I wanna skip/upgrade first like the casual I am).
