Martial Arts being locked to this DLC is bad
The DLC is for level around 150 so they introduce a new cool playstyle that is only available for high level characters, at that point you already have a build stablished and are done with most of the game.

You can respec and start a ng+ with those new martial arts, though

Ng+ and Play the Martial Arts from the beginning to end...?????

wait, this complaint makes sense

i haven't gotten to the martial arts yet (except for the worst walmart greeter in the world. i fought that guy) but entirely redesigning combat but not providing it for an NG playthrough does mean that experience is getting lost. i don't really like NG+ and i think i start overpowered instead of starting simple and struggling, like i prefer. it would be cool to have the option of starting as an initiate monk or something instead of dropping into Limgrave as a master

Agreed tbh, even in the base game ER has the problem of llacking stuff in the early game and having way too much stuff in the endgame.

Don't get me wrong, I love the new weapon classes, but with the way the progression works, nobody is going to use them in the main game.

Then you're gonna be really unhappy when you find out about all the other new weapon types, ashes, craftables and spells. :2016bee:

its cool looking but not really great...
Kurobon Jun 21, 2024 @ 9:44am
It would have made sense to have new starting classes with some of the new weapon classes (or at least if you could unlock them through gameplay, like LOTF, seems like a huge oversight.

As Key noted, you never build a complete build on NG, so it would be cool if you could create a starting class at SL1 with a set, like an NG+ lite, only what you equip make it to the game.

This is one of my gripes. You always put a build together when you are already too OP to enjoy the class; and if you struggle is because your build is not "meta"enough to nuke some bosses.

Exactly, they should have released this in the MAIN GAME, otherwise by the time you can play it you are already done with the game, is massively stupid.

False equivalence, Martial arts are a playstyle, weapon or whatever, its a BUILD, not a skill, not a spell, it's fine that there are better spells, weapons, skills there but locking an ENTIRE PLAYSTYLE is stupid.

Exactly, they should have made AT THE VERY LEAST made a starting class that has the weakest weapon for it but they should have put this weapons in the main game.

So what I’m hearing is you feel entitled to get something new that came with the dlc for free without earning it… in a game designed to make you earn everything? You’re mad because you have to work hard to the half way point of the main game to reach the dlc and then find it and obtain it through whatever means are available to you? Boy don’t play Darksouls 1, 2, 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro, or straying away from FromSoft, Code Vein, Metal Gear Solid, any sonic game, Resident Evil, Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk, Baldurs Gate 3, Berserk, HELLDIVERS or any other game that makes you work for stuff.

No the DLC scale for RL 1. The olny way to not be stomp in the DLC is the blessing.

I bought the DLC who is asking anything for free?

I am saying that ONCE YOU BUY THE DLC, they should have made the new platstyle available from the beginning because most every build can be done from the beginning in some shae or form, it's completely stupid to gate a build till you are already finished the game basically.

I had a friend drop both items for me on a new toon. I guess it sucks to be friendless.
