Granted I’ve never played a Souls Game before, but I’ve always seen them from afar.

I do prefer to stay away from the older titles due to the clunky platforming that would probably pop a vein in my brain, but this one as far as I know is smooth, right?

yes my guy, its very smooth. +Play other soulslike games which i can recommend: Lies of P, Dark souls 3+2+1, Demon souls, Bloodborne, sekiro. U wont regreed it. The older ones are clunky, yes, but u get used to it after very few hours. But first dive into Elden Ring. Hundreds of hours Playtime which got more since the DLC with more and more hours just released. Good luck my guy. I wish u the most Money to enjoy this piece of art all my mentioned games are.

older souls fans sometimes have significant issues with ER for various reasons - mostly it differing from souls

if you're truly new to the stuff, ER is the best intro and you'll have a wonderful time. if you start with the older games first you might have a very rough time and bounce off - but if you start with elden ring and come to love the genre, you can go back and truly appreciate the older ones with what elden ring taught you about how to approach them.

don't hold out for a big sale, it hasn't ever had and never will have a big one. the most you can hope to save is like $10 here

ER has gone on sale at most seasonal sale events. I'm banking DLC will be on sale in the winter sale event.

I won’t be able to try the PlayStation exclusive ones but I could try the Bloodborne Demake, lol.

Idk about DS1 tho, even watching the footage on the platforming and randomly glitching off platforms and dying off in pitch black parts gives me an episode and I’m not even the one playing.
