I'd assume there's some sort of system to prevent DLC items being used if they are somehow owned without the DLC. Regardless, you can only refund the DLC under the normal refund rules of the base game (less than 14 days since purchase and less than 2 hours played), and since (probably) nobody can get to the DLC in under 2 hours without cheating, it's probably a moot point.

well you can refund a dlc up to two hours of playtime after the purchase of the dlc i believe. also was asking about the items just to make sure it wouldn't lock my character or something weird when i go back to base game.

Do not buy the DLC if your not gonna play it yet!

I bought it, but after an hour I noticed I still need some progress in my base game before I go to the DLC. So I refunded it and will pick it up at a later point. Now my savegame is broken and the games says: "This profile cannot be loaded until the required DLC is reinstalled".

I feel like the game has taken me hostage :(
