Damage of the DLC
50 Vigor, heavy armor, Greatshield dmg resist phys talisman NG0, everything 2 shots. Like legit everything.
Inb4 'skill issue' just wanted to raise a discussion, do you think they went a bit too hard on damage of everything here?

P.S. I know about the new mechanic, I am at 6 stacks rn and I personally don't see improvement at all.

50 Vigor was the sort of "standard" for the base game, I think it makes sense the expansion would require going above that to survive more than a few hits.

Having a very similar experience, I absolute think they went too hard on damage scaling. The fun of Souls games isn't making one mistake and being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for it, it's overcoming little mistakes and eventually working your way towards getting better. This DLC just really punishes you for missing ANY dodge window with losing half your health or just straight up dying.

idk what level you are because im doing fine at 40 vigor and ronin armor so far. Def not everything 2 shots, lots of stuff does little damage but enemies have some wack 8 hit combos and delayed timing. Major enemies and bosses it depends on the attack of course but I feel it usually takes 3 shots to kill me unless its some major attack that does 70% of my hp. I started the DLC at 119. I think they recommended 150 aka its as hard/harder than farum azula. It's a good challenge so far but mostly due to not having learned the new attack patterns yet. I'm more annoyed by all the freaky movements alot of enemies do than the damage.

I get that but you do get very diminishing returns after 50, what is expected, 80?

Are you running Morgotts Great Rune for the extra HP?

With a few upgrades this starts to feel like the Mountaintops in terms of the damage you take. It's really not that bad. A couple enemies here and there are tanky though, I agree.

I shouldn't be expected to be at level 300 to get into the DLC. Sorry, but that is absurd.

I dont use any great runes. I dont wanna rely on a 42 rune arc stack while learning.

My dude, go do legacy bosses, until then you have nothing to say.
I'm negating 43% of physical damage, at +5 blessing and this stupid Dancing Dragon deletes me in easily 2-3 hits. This is overtuned as hell.
Shadow of the Erdtree doesn't scale with your level directly, but instead uses a new leveling system to recreate the feeling of progression the base game had.

The only catch is that your Scadutree Blessing and Revered Spirit Ash Blessing level disappear when you're anywhere outside of the DLC area. Your stats will be highlighted in orange to show that they're enabled and will go back to white when they're not. I imagine this allows FromSoft to more easily balance the difficulty of the DLC areas without trivializing the base game.

What do you mean legacy bosses? I beat the dancing dragon thing that's where we quit for tonight lol. It took 3 tries

Yeah except that this new levelling system is absolute ass. This makes me feel like I am doing NG+7 on an NG0 run. I shouldn't be getting into a boss fight and being deleted in under 20 seconds because I dared to make a bad dodge while learning. This is abusive.

Yeaaaaa right.
50 VGR, 43% damage negation and I get killed in 3 hits, but YOU magically don't?

Yea I guess by 'Getting 2 shot by everything' I meant every single attack of the Legacy bosses,
Exploration is fine and good. Its the bosses that I feel are a bit over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ top
