i guess it all depends on if enemies/bosses are weak to poison or resistant. so it's probably a case by case basis.
Edit: After more time I want to clarify. Perfume bottles are disappointing and terrible. But the fire perfume bottle is not. It has the higher damage of all of them, and with Rolling Shock it can hit 5k in the DLC if you land all of it. Fire Scorpion Charm, Shard of Alexander, Perfumer's Talisman, Dew Talisman that regens mana. Very strong. Everything else about perfumes can be done better by other weapons. Poison is the worst.
