I'll try this, although I did use some blessings, although IDK which one does which, but I've got "3" on both, I have no idea how good or bad that is, I assume bad because I am getting absolutely DEMOLISHED lmaooo
Excuse me, you used.. what?
Ice phase is very punishing and he can practically one shot you. The ice stomp has a pretty generous dodge window, that being said. The ice AOE isn't as scary as you might think in general, as you can, for the most part, just dodge like normal and still avoid attacks.
Beyond that, the big breath attack he does where he goes in a circle is best avoided by backing away while dodging/jumping the breath. Dodging into it is just asking for your camera to explode and stop functioning. Unlocking your camera also works, here.
A lot of his other attack strings are surprisingly not that long and usually start with him attacking forward. If you can get to his sides, you can get away with getting some attacks off. He can still hit you, but I feel like it worked fairly well for me.
Really take advantage of wind phase, also. That's by far his easiest phase, easier than his first phase, also.
Are people seriously too scared to use the blessings? Has it really gotten THAT bad?
Do you really think they would take the time to develop a feature that they actively didn't want players to use? Why would they do that?
It seemed pretty obvious to me that they included the blessings to promote exploration of the new area, and provide some semblance of progression for players that will probably already be a VERY high level going into the DLC.
If Fromsoft didn't want you to do something, they wouldn't put it in the game. Using the tools that the game provides is NOT cheating.
As for the boss, keeping your distance helps see and avoid the lightning strikes. I mostly ended up waiting it out until he switched again because attacking during the lightning phase is too dangerous.
Magic is the same, there are several fights where bosses are very slippery and often dodge out of range after a combo while magic just sits back and shoots.
Just like i put restrictions on myself not to utilize summons, coop, scarletrot, magic etc i tho that the new mechanic might be to strong and wanted to try and do bosses without it. (With summons it wouldnt really be needed) but with all the previous restrictions it just became too hard.
You should try actually using some of these things that you've been told are "Too strong."
Spoilers: they really aren't. The game was made and balanced around them existing and being used.
