Is this a great start for a none souls player?
I've never played a souls game and I've heard nothing but good stuff about Elden Ring. Would this be a good start for me or should I play Dark Souls 1 - 3 first?

Elden Ring is certainly the easiest, it also serves as sort of a "summary" of all previous souls games, so I'd say it's a good start. However if you plan to play other fromsoft games like Dark souls after, be aware that you will encouter many similar enemies and bosses along the way, down to them having the exact same moveset, which might lessen your enjoyment.

this ain't game problem if you use magic and over leveling and call it easiest game.

They are all pretty different. Most will say play Dark Souls Remastered or DS3, and stay away from DS2. I played them in the order of release and had a lot of fun doing it that way. If you decide to do that, don't listen to the DS2 haters. In my opinion its the best of the 3.

I disagree DS3 is the best place to start, from there, DS1, then Bloodborn, Then Demons Soul with an emulator. pass on DS2 and then you are ready For Elden Ring.

When I play Elden Ring I get a lot of DS2 vibes for some reason. Some of the mechanics are from that game. Things like powerstancing, weapon movesets, and two-handing the off-hand weapon.

Some people have said that Elden Ring is not a souls game. It's an openworld game with Souls combat. You can play it like a souls game, but you have to kind of force yourself to do it. Making sure that you are not overleveling or breaking the game in some way.

Souls games are very tight curated experiences.

That's not true at all, at least the way you put it. There might be some basic animations that are shared across the games, but Fromsoft goes out of its way to make each game unique. Sure, some bosses might feature similar designs, but they have different movesets, appearances, strategies, etc...It's like saying that your mother is similar to your dad in that they are both bipedals.

1. Lore and story - this game has no connection to souls. So feel free to join.
2. This game use A LOT of older assets, mechanics, models.... So playing any Souls after - will be really borring. It's just like ALL from them was ported here.
3. Gameplay based - this is as good as DS1-2 were back then. Playing any souls after will be painfull as minimum - no jums, way less skills and weapons....
4. DS3 - is mess, ignore it anyway - this game is just bad.
5. What are you loosing? Only ingame jockes, references, etc. For example - in dlc to ds 1 was a boss/character "Artorias", dat was cosplaying Guts from Berserk. It's weapon moveset is included in all games, and now with dls we get not one, but 2 movesets from him. And for fan - this is "WOW! give me more!" For you - this will be "Yay! Fancy jump atack! Ok, where was I?"

I think - you will not regret, if you start with ER. But if you really want to dive in - ds1-2 are your choice.

Elden Ring is by far the best Souls game in my opinion. I would just play it and play the other ones later if you want to. The games are not related or tied together. SO no need to play in order or even play at all.
