Update constantly stopping/verifying/starting

Trying to update Elden Ring, and i'm able to download for 10 seconds, the update then stops, validates 49 gigs, then starts again and loops. This problem is exclusive to Elden Ring as I have other updates in my downloads that update without this happening.

Anyone else have this issue and a possible solution?

Just reinstall the entire thing. Would have taken me hours to update. Takes me 30 minutes to reinstall. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous.

I'm dlin' this shiz with 900 kb/s too. It's insane

I'm dlin' this shiz with 900 kb/s too. It's insane

Yeah my internet is pretty terrible too but as long as it doesn't get stuck in that loop i'll be able to at least play over the weekend.

The problem is that it's not my internet. Steam is limping cause of the massive ppl downloading 🤣

my game has been updating and installing and all that jazz since 8am, it is currently 7:37pm and still doing it.

I don't think it's that. It's the way Steam checks the entire install periodically as it installs chunks of the patch. If a developer doesn't optimize their patch properly it can make the thing take forever. I just installed the entire thing in 30 minutes so it's not congestion that's causing it.

Yeah steam should be used to this kind of major activity, while Elden Ring is very popular I doubt it compares to some of the larger steam sales in the past.

I uninstalled and its now been downloading for the past 15 minutes or so without the issue so hopefully it's fixed.

I mean, there are ppl who downloaded and were in game in 5 minutes. My setup is pretty high end too. Idk
