Inappropriate Activity?

I've owned this game almost since launch. I have never even used a mod. I run the game on linux through proton.

Today I go to fire the game up, to be greeted with the message that inappropriate behaviour has been detected, and I can no-longer use online mode.

What happened? Anyone else having this issue?

i remember reading that this pops up for a few linux users if I'm correct
try not to play and not to get banned until the dlc releases i guess?

Check system updates, windows, linux. Had another guy who had this issue and found updating his windows did it. He self resolved his thread when he said he was able to get on after an update.


Plus side, inappropriate activity warning doesn't ban you. It just boots you to offline mode. You get banned when you bypass the inappropriate activity with scripts.

Yeah Deck users also encounter this problem too, it's probably EAC. Hope you'll get the fix soon.

I tried changing the priority of Elden Ring in Task Manager and got hit with this. Restarted the game and I'm back online

Happened to me tonight after doing the update. But only on my Steam Deck. Runs fine on my windows PC

Plaltform SteamDeck ,I have same issue after completed the 6GB update.
I have tried uninstall and re-install the EldenRing. But it dose not ' help . . . . . .

Happens to me as well on PC, don't have steam deck. Literally nothing has changed on my PC or save since the last time I played ER before this update, and now it's giving me that error.

Same here, got the message after installing the dlc. Normal PC, normal windows, normal controller, nothing special, 300+ hours no issues. But now I cannot play.

I got the same error (on steam version on pc), but funnily enough I can see other ghosts, read player messages and see the red pools where people die. I just cant summon or get summoned. Please fix this Fromsoft

I have this same issue, I assumed that my saved game was corrupt and I deleted a 600+hr save. However now starting fresh I still have the same issue...furious!!!

I got this for the first time yesterday. I had been playing my first character in save slot 1 for the DLC, I decided I would play one of my lower level characters and when I quit to main menu on that other character I got the Inappropriate activity message after playing just fine since launch on my first character with no issues.

I also get this on Linux+Proton. I've never modded this game too, for the record.

Worth noting that I DON'T have the DLC, so it seems this will happen regardless of if you have the DLC or not. Weirdly enough, when I launch the game, I can see EasyAntiCheat launching, so maybe it's crashing or is incompatible with the newest update or something?

EAC/EOS is searching for DLC files in the game directory if it does not find it it will complain, basically non-DLC players are out. Any DLC players with issues, can uninstall DLC then reinstall it again, to try to fix issue.
