Update broke DualSense Support

I'm aware that the game doesn't officially support the DualSense controller, but I played through the game just fine with it using Steam Input before the patch.

After the patch, none of the shoulder buttons work, regardless of what Steam Input settings I use. Every other button works just fine, but I'd rather not have to do a pacifist run of Shadow of the Erdtree if the expansion install doesn't fix it.

And yes, I've verified my game files, it doesn't fix it.

As an extra bonus, there are now huge loading lurches in the main menu, and I think the game might be compiling shaders on the fly since I was seeing in-game stutters that I've never seen before, but they seem to go away after a while.

All in all, garbage patch. If it's not needed for SotE, revert it back and properly QA it this time.

Install DS4windows, steam input for dualsense kind of sucks in my experience. The game doesnt utilize any dualsense features like haptics etc. that you lose from using an Xinput wrapper anyway

DualSense works for me on Win 11 with newest patch currently. Just with Xbobx symbols instead tho. But still works

Dual Sense working fine for me, I wonder what could be the issue for you guys. hopefully this is not widespread and hopefully it gets sorted for you guys.

I have had issues with some games recognizing dual sense and found that if I turn it on before I open the game and also put steam in big picture mode it works. Might be worth a try. Also try turning on or off steam input.

Go to your Elden Ring Page.
Click on Controller settings on the right.
It will fix the issue.
DLC factory resetted a lot of things; controller is one such thing.

im using DS4windows with my PS5 controller because when im in bed i need something to move the mouse and its work flawless.

As others have stated, DS4windows is a godsend for games that do not officially support ps controllers, I use it for gamepass too.

A shame not many companies want to support it, it seems.

Looks like reapplying the official Steam Input profile might have fixed it. Weird that it was only the shoulder buttons that weren't working, but whatever.

How's the Dual Sense for this game? Was thinking of picking one up.
