Changing our PC timezone settings for a "Preload" effect...
Steam has pre-loads in general so its pretty weak of FromSoft to do this yet again. They must have a deal with Sony or something...

Either way, I saw someone saying to set the timezone settings to New Zealand or something, which will unlock the game a few hours sooner and you can download it then set your zone settings back and depending on your internet speed, be ahead or "on time"?

Is it worth the trouble, can you get banned for this?

Well, some are suggesting on other forums you have to do it with a VPN. I use Mullvad for $5 a month, but there are free VPN options. If you purchase the game/product without a vpn, then you wont get banned for using VPN to switch the timezone.

What I am trying to figure out is if the release is even a rolling release at all, cuz if it is then VPN-ing to New Zealand would unlock the game tonight at Midnight or something like that. I

I already have a VPN. If its a rolling release, clicking two buttons to appear in New Zealand and play at midnight is not a waste of time.

I don't think Steam cares or even bothers to find out unless people use a VPN to buy games for cheaper than usual by spoofing a weaker currency with better exchange rates.

The expansion launches for the PC several hours before it becomes available for PS5 users; this, unless your internet speeds are bupkis (and I used to live in the sticks, so I know that pain), sort of puts paid to the "deal with Sony" complaint.
