So one of the major problems with keyboard is that dodging is going to feel less responsive then it does presumably on a controller. (Or so I'm led to believe.)

However you can keybind the game to feel good for everything else.

My keybinds are WASD to move.

Lm for attack,
Rm for block
Shift Lm for heavy attack,
Shift Rm for ashes of war.
You can also rebind heavy attack to T and Ash of War to Q if you prefer. For example I have both.

Space to dodge, run and backstep.

F to jump. Jumping isn't as vital and important as it is in other games, so you use it more like just a tool.

1 to switch spells, 2 to switch consumables, 3 for right hand weapon and 4 to for left.

Hold E for the various hotbar consumables that you put there.

R to use consumables

E to interact.

G unfortunately can't be rebound but it is your map.

And I personally rebound target to an extra mouse button but I know some people prefer tab for that.

Okay thanks for sharing I use a controller which I find to be better but a mouse and keyboard is also viable and as long as you have fun that's all that matters.

Controllers are inferior to KBM when properly integrated and built around. Using EMU Light, which is an Elden Ring script that vastly improves KBM compatability such as activating roll upon button press instead of release, dedicated buttons for running and rolling, and single button hotkeys for things like Torrent, has made the game so much better than it ever could be when playing with a controller.

Use the default control scheme and get used to it. Its perfectly suitable

I tried using a controller, but I can't stand the fact that you have to contort your hand in order to both sprint and turn the camera at the same time. Also, the precision and speed with which you can turn the camera on a controller seems to be a lot worse compared to using a mouse, but that might just be a skill issue on my part since I never really use controllers in the first place.

Man, i tried playing on M&K, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does it not feel good.

There's an application you can use also called, EMU Light.
It lets you customise the controls, but also makes it really simple to set up spell and item hotkey macros, and also let's you separate the run and roll commands.
The only downside is you need the HUD set to always on or it can be buggy.

You can always just use your keyboard software to rebind hardbound keys.
