Seamless Coop Items missing

I installed the Seamless Coop mod and started the game, the items just aren't showing up in my and my friend's inventory, can anyone help?

For me, they show up upon making a new character every time. But I think I also have it setup to have a password and all that too. Idk, I set it up the one time and it went smoothly enough. I realize this isn't helpful but interested to see what happens.

maybe they show up once you reach the first step? I don't remember, either that or something in the installation went wrong

The new items should be in your inventory from the getgo,
ensure the files are extracted to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game
Set a password in the ini file, its required for the mod to function
After youve double checked these launch the game with the new exe file that came with the mod. if you get an EasyAntiCheat pop up when you launch you did it wrong

The installation is pretty straightforward. Ive done it before in the past and it worked fine but for some reason its not getting past the anti cheat even though i did everythiing the same. Download into game directory>extract>modify .ini for password>launch with ersc launcer. And i still get the anti cheat. Bought the game for a friend and she was able to follow those steps and get the items once she was in the game.
