Report a translation problem
It wasn't used much in any war or documented battles. A ceremonial weapon first, based on historic examples. In rare cases, these were alongside forward lance deployments, but this didn't last.
Then ER came around and took nearly every DS3 weapon and made them even bigger. The next iteration of Fromsoft's ER/Darksouls clone will likely go even comically larger weapons than this. Because we gotta one up old stuff and... muh anime ... n'stuff. 🙄
edit: If I remember correctly, actually a few of the colossal swords have this issue as well.
As in, it grows on you.
