L2 and R2 not working

The L2 and R2 buttons on my gamepad are not working for the PC version of Elden Ring. I have tried every solution on these reddit posts related to this topic and nothing has worked for me. I still can't use L2/R2 attacks on my controller no matter what I try to fix it. Even going into the steam controller settings to change the trigger to soft pull did nothing to fix the problem. What is unusual and unique about my situation is that L2/R2 only work if I'm holding down another button at the same time. Also when I click a trigger button it deactivates my right analog stick camera view until I click on another button first.

I'm having the same problem here, have you been able to find a fix at all? Mine is an off-brand Switch Pro controller, but the triggers definitely work for everything else other than Elden ring. Just started happening when I launched it today.

I am having the same problem with a nacon gc-100 controller.

I unplugged my controller, hit it a few times and restarted the game when that happened to me and that fixed it.

That did not help. The problem occured after the last steam update. The controller works fine otherwise in other games.

This just started happening to me too. Went into steam gamepad settings and messed with it and still nothing. Right analogue sometimes wont turn the camera as well.

Used to happen to me, I just went into device manager, uninstalled it, let the drivers reinstall automatically and then unchecked every option in Steam but the 360/Xbox One option.

When I started having issues again and I thought I'd have to redo this again, plugging it into a USB 3 port instead of USB 2 has solved it ever since.

yep happening to me too, i thought i glitched the game because i acciddently quit right as i died so i thought it locked me into what op was describing, i cant use skill or heavy attack without pressing in the control sticks

guessing it must be the update

hope they fix this soon, i dont want to play elden ring on mouse and keyboard

I'm curious. Does L2 and R2 work if you push them really hard (like all the way down)? I ran into this twice before on my gamepad, which is a PowerA Fusion Pro Xbox One controller with the 4 paddles on the back and 3-way sensitivity switches for those shoulder buttons.

If you happen to have the same one, check to see if you may have inadvertently switched them to the lowest sensitivity setting.

I'm having the same bug but in my case if i push R3 while presing R2 or L2 somehow it works.

I have tried using a 360 controller emulator and still nothing.

same here, being using a generic controller for more than 100 hours and out of nowhere it stopped working

found a really weird fix on the reddit. it still locks the screen when u press the triggers but at least they work now somehow???

-click the controller button on the right side of the game's launch page

-click "Edit Layout"

-set the Soft Pull for both triggers to Shift Key

-set the Hard Pull for the right and left triggers to left mouse click and right mouse click, respectively.

Have the same issue
I tried to :
-Unplug and plug again my controller multiple time
-Unplug all my other device to see if there was any conflict
-reboot steam and then my computer
-rebind my controller
-Uninstall my controller driver and install it again
-a weird tech where i erase a line in a text file that is suppose to reset the controller settings (didn't worked at all lmao)

Nothing worked for now :/
