The DLC likely takes place during the story of the base game, not after.
You see......everyone and their mother is looking for Miquella, even Gideon congratulates you after dealing with Mogh and telling him where Miquella was hiding all the time, keep that in mind.
Considering how DLCs often are isolated events in the souls-series, its likely they happened before the ending of the game.
Ranni's ending is definitely the most rich of the 3, having a long questline behind it.
Neutral is the most barebones of the 3 endings, aka the most boring one.

Base game only shipped with 1 ending tough.
Well the Ringed City felt like it is happening after the ending of DS3 to me.
Ringed City was on its own time bubble due to Gwyn, thats why the massive jump in time when we mess up with that magic ball.
