Serious question

I used to torrent this game a year ago until I got a warning from my ISP to stop after they saw the torrent file on my pc, as well as cut off my internet at random times of the day. So I did. Deleted all torrent files. Then I bought a legit key last year from CDkeys and I now own it on Steam. The thing is I'm unsure if I'll get another warning from my ISP because they'll see Elden Ring in my PC files again and assume it's the same thing as the torrent and give me another warning. So I have it "removed" from my account but can restore it to library anytime (bc it's an external key) I'm not savvy when it comes to this very technical stuff. Just want to know if I can safely play this with no problem.

That's not how it works. Your ISP doesn't see what's on your computer. They see where you go online and what you download. Based on your story, they probably caught you torrenting something else. I'm no expert, but if you bought the game, you should be able to play it without consequence.

they sent the file name of what they discovered in the warning email and it was indeed the main file I downloaded from the torrent website for ER. I should mention they sent a follow up email thanking for deleting the file and my internet was running back to normal

I guess I'm no help here, sorry. Were you actively seeding it or something ( I only know a little about torrents )?

well I technically don't even think your internet company saw you downloading the files, just a third party sending them a letter that did. but nobody ever saw the files on your computer

just download the game, nothing with happen now that you own it

Gotcha. Ig I'll go ahead and try it now. I'm really pumped for the dlc so I wanted to make sure I was in the green lol
