40$ for a DLC is UNACCEPTABLE.
Elden Ring base game price in 60 dollars, the dlc is 40, so if the dlc is not at least almost as big as the base game is not worth the price, and lets be honest here, we all know it wont be, So yes, 40$ for a dlc is a disgrace, its overpriced and its unacceptable.

Im worried about From Software's future, because it clearly means that they are changing.

if anything the people who bought the Deluxe edition back when it released it was $80 they should only have to pay $20 for the DLC not $40 makes sense, since the deluxe now is $100 and you get everything artbook and soundtracks also.

Inflation works it's way down the pipeline. Expect games to cost 150$ in the future, you just gotta make sure your salary increases by at least the same percentage as product prices. This applies to everything.

To be fair, FromSoftware has always delivered great content and much of it to begin with, and by the looks of it this DLC seems to be very big if whats written is true (10 bosses, size of Limgrave etc.).
Based on that I think the pricing is fair. I wil lactually decide if its worth it when the DLC releases and I can actually see what I am getting and how much gameplay I get from it.

because thats modern gaming for you, 99.9% of games are not worth the price.

id say Elden Ring is worth 60, but this dlc to be worth 40 it needs to be at least close to Elden Ring base, and it wont be.

Everyone judges the "worth" of something individually.

If it doesn't worth it for you then don't buy it.

For whoever it's worth it then they gonna buy it.

I don't know what kind of other answer you are expecting to get here.
