Or maybe he eats ass. Either way, he's not the best dude.
I can just understand his reasoning behind his motives, as twisted as they are. From makes good characters.
I will actually fight anyone who talks ♥♥♥♥ about Roderika. She had a tough time, and it's not like she knew really what she was getting into.
Also Hugh did nothing wrong. He was ride or die. "The sheer terror of her" etc.
But I wonder what motivated him to craft a weapon capable of killing her.
And yes, I won't say ER has the absolute best depth of characters of any game I've played, but they are generally compellingly written. And then there's Patches, who they've had... what, six games to perfect now?
Kinda like the ubiquitous crestfallen warrior.
But if there's one thing I've learned in my time on this planet, it's that sometimes you need to appreciate the mystery, as a concrete answer will likely be disappointing.
Here's to hoping.
On the note of DLC specifically, I wonder what the main conflict will be. There has to be something about Miquella, and maybe you went back in time and killed him and that's how we reach the current day of Elden Ring. Could be interesting.
As for main conflict, we have the tagline that all who have lost the grace of gold must be purged, or something to that effect. I doubt that the player will be railroaded into doing the purging (especially given... almost every ending), so perhaps Snaky Bloodflame is the purger, or his faction is? A holy war of some type seems like a safe bet, at least.
Their questline does need some fleshing out.
Nothing to do but speculate until we can figure it out.
