What to do about the DLC price
For those willing to pay $40-$50 for the DLC... do it (just don't pre-order). Tell the rest of us how much content there was, how good it was, and if it was worth it. Honestly, it might be.

The rest of us can decide whether to drop $20 when it's on sale.

In any case, pre-ordering a DLC for $40 is a bad idea. There's no advantage in it. Bandai isn't going under if you don't. You're paying for promises of a yet-unfinished product you can't refund.

Already pre-ordered and btw, "You're paying for promises of a yet-unfinished product you can't refund" ... Are you talking about FromSoft or Ubisoft?

I mean the whole thing's gonna be spoiled by youtube thumbnails unless I go full media blackout while playing it. All their previous DLCs have been good so I'm probably gonna give it a day after launch, see if there's general outrage due to scope or performance, and buy if not.
Not too concerned about size, would rather have an excellent curated experience. $40 for something even twice the size of AotA or Ringed City, at that level of quality, is fine to me. I'm looking forward to more endgame content, once you get out of the earlygame the ER protagonist kinda just feels like this unstoppable god whose feet don't touch the ground (mostly due to every field enemy being a conscious decision to get off the horse and engage with it instead of running past, tbf, but the dungeons feel like this a lot of the time too), aside from the endgame bosses. So hopefully the expansion content feels more like the previous games in terms of regular enemy threat level.

Same. Literally everyone I know is ultra mega hyped for this expansion pack and has already preordered. All my friends are blowing up Discord talking about it. Most of us will be taking a few days off work to play this masterpiece.

All the people complaining about the price are most likely either fkd because their region exploits labour or underage and can't get daddys credit card for it.

Too many junk publishers/devs have taught me not to pre-order. But in my experience, Fromsoft is a different story. So I also pre-ordered because the dark souls DLC's were all and always good, strong and crisp. I don't expect anything different with this one, just typical Fromsoft. :estusfull:

Feels like buying the same game twice with such insane price for a dlc…

FromSoft has never missed with their DLCs so they have earned my benefit of the doubt that it'll be absolutely worth it.

Ok, Elden ring has somewhere around 50 gb, partly temporal up to 60. On the PS 5 it's even 80gb. The DLC gets 60 gb. 40 money is expensive?

This is honestly something I would recommend for people that are unsure about the price tag, because I am going to be honest, 40$ for a DLC is pretty big, it's also supposed to be a pretty big dlc, in the books as an expansion pack, just wait out the uncertainty, and if the price ain't right by the reviews of people who truly went deep into it and completed it, and base your thoughts on that, watch some videos if you wanna go that extra mile, personally, I will be buying it as FromSoftware has never once disappointed me, so I choose to believe the extra mile for a good hope

Mission accomplished, industry brought to it's knees.

Also you just have to love the unsolicited advice from randoms on the internet on what to do with your money.

There is no proof the DLC Is actually 60GB, the base game is 48GB. So it might only be 10GB update, which isn't that big tbh.
