Lmao what's the point preorder?
Imagine paying for a meal only to get it after 4month without any added benefit

I have too much money

The point is to generate revenue sooner without any extra effort because people don't care about their money.

Pre loading the game, buying it now that you have the money and isn't sure if you'll get it on release.

That's it. In my opinion it's a much type of pre-order than the popular 3 days early access or having cut content from the game sold as pre order, specially skins

Cause this games amazing get in line or get off

I mean, if someone was like hey, hold my money. Would you say no? Are you offended they even asked?
you get a super super never going to be used EMOTEEEEEEEEEEEEE

really preordering only means you cant get interest or invest the money, which they will be able to do making the money worth more the earlier they suck it out of your wallet.

Nah i think they should put a lil bit more effort on pre order, maybe give those people unreleased concept art(not talking about artbook those are handpicked illustrations), some early game footage, storyboard, etc

With highly anticipated games, the steam shop always crashes and burns and a lot of people have to try several times until they can finally get the game. Another point is predownloading.
But I wouldn't buy month prior, just a day before or so.

If you are short on money preorder is dump.

If you preorder a game of one of that crazzy ass developers out there like EA and what not - you are dump

If you swim in money and its a fromsoft game, preorder is - who cares.

If you are in a sanctioned country you might not be able to buy it after it releases. Even pre-order might get blocked for you.
Happened with DD2 for me. Not that I would pay the outrageous price tag (6k rubles is absolutely outrageous for a videogame, with the norm usually being 2k for the most hyped AAA releases and much less for everything else), but still.

you dont get anything by preordering the DLC, that emote costs extra 10 bucks for the Premium DLC edition.
preloading.
If you are a streamer and want to be among the first to showcase your lack of skills, you can preorder to start playing roughly 1 hour sooner than the rest.

for normal people with normal jobs, theres literally no good reason.
