That's it. In my opinion it's a much type of pre-order than the popular 3 days early access or having cut content from the game sold as pre order, specially skins
really preordering only means you cant get interest or invest the money, which they will be able to do making the money worth more the earlier they suck it out of your wallet.
With highly anticipated games, the steam shop always crashes and burns and a lot of people have to try several times until they can finally get the game. Another point is predownloading.
But I wouldn't buy month prior, just a day before or so.
If you are short on money preorder is dump.
If you preorder a game of one of that crazzy ass developers out there like EA and what not - you are dump
If you swim in money and its a fromsoft game, preorder is - who cares.
Happened with DD2 for me. Not that I would pay the outrageous price tag (6k rubles is absolutely outrageous for a videogame, with the norm usually being 2k for the most hyped AAA releases and much less for everything else), but still.
you dont get anything by preordering the DLC, that emote costs extra 10 bucks for the Premium DLC edition.
If you are a streamer and want to be among the first to showcase your lack of skills, you can preorder to start playing roughly 1 hour sooner than the rest.
for normal people with normal jobs, theres literally no good reason.
