There's a difference between EXPANSION and DLC
Expansions are bigger, everything is unique. They add entirely new stories, completely new designed mobs, new bosses, entirely new and unique zones.

You kids who never had the experience of proper expansions stuck into nickle and dime "DLC" for 5 hours extra content. If this is a proper expansion(They've literally titled it an EXPANSION and decidedly not "DLC") you're looking at around 60 hours of gameplay in a single playthrough; basically a new game.

Don't confuse this with DLC. If the Expansion launches and it turns out to not be expansion quality then be outraged but for now stop spreading misinformation by saying this is DLC, it's not. It's an expansion and you'll bet it's going to be worth it considering Elden Ring had around 200+ hours of gameplay in a single playthrough.

By that logic an entire game is DLC? We download it and it's content so it's DLC, right?

There's a difference between expansion and DLC. Period. DLC has always been associated with bite sized content, not a full fledged expansion. Don't be an idiot and claim otherwise.

no, because a dlc requires the base game, the base game just requires itself
